John Restrick is Chief Technology Officer for Cisco’s Collaboration Technology group which develops collaboration solutions for businesses. The group’s portfolio includes collaboration software, devices, infrastructure and services that enable video collaboration, unified communications, customer contact centers, conferencing, mobility, and desktop virtualization. This includes such solutions as Cisco TelePresence, Cisco Unified Communications Manager, and Cisco WebEx. 

Restrick joined Cisco in 2001 to lead development of video in the Unified Communications solution. After managing development for a number of years, he led architecture for the Unified Communications Manager. He has led the integration and advancement of the Collaboration portfolio and is driving a unified architecture across the solution. Restrick’s focus is on delivering a collaboration portfolio that is interoperable, simple to use and that provides an excellent customer experience. He has 10 patents in the areas of protocol interworking, quality of service, bandwidth reservation and address discovery.

Prior to joining Cisco, Restrick was a director of engineering at FVC.COM, a video networking company.
