Another Great Team Halloween Party Using Video Collaboration

Another successful Halloween party at Cisco thanks to Cisco TelePresence and WebEx.  I lost my title as first place winner this year to someone dressed as an Outhouse, yes folks, an Outhouse.  And everyone else stepped up their game too and some even adding additional elements like dancing and props.  I feel fortunate to be […]

It’s Time for an Intelligent Approach to Video Collaboration

As we’ve been preparing for next week’s Collaboration Summit, I’ve been reflecting on the past 10 years in the video and communications industry. In today’s hyper-connected world, the bar has been raised and user expectations are higher than ever before, especially as it relates to video and its impact on efficiency and productivity.  Users want […]

Flipped Learning – Transforming Education

To say the way students learn today has dramatically changed since I was in school would be an understatement. Not too long ago, technology played a limited role in education. Computers were not an active part of any discussion; it was a lab we went to for an hour a day.  Now students are fortunate to […]

New Bills in U.S. Government Show Commitment to Video

Being effective in your job doesn’t always mean that you need to be there.  In fact, many would argue that their productivity increases drastically when they are given the flexibility to work wherever they want as long as they can stay connected.  If that means staying off of a plane for a business trip, even […]

Video Usage & Young Executives: A Survey of Tomorrow’s Leaders

Fast forward to 2013 … […]

We’ve been reading people’s faces since we were newborns, so it’s natural for us to use visual cues as we build stronger relationships and better organizations. As video makes deeper inroads in enterprises large and small, I […]

Video – The Great Equalizer in Future Tax Seasons

April 15th, what does this day mean to you?  For most U.S. citizens, it isn’t a day to look forward to.   That’s because it’s the day our taxes are due.  While it is part of our civic responsibility, I would venture to say that few people really enjoy the tax season; even CPAs are crazed […]

Video – It is a Buyer’s Market

As I walked the halls of Enterprise Connect last week for the 7th or 8th year in a row (who’s counting??), I noticed that video is still one of the key themes across many of the vendors.  A few years back, it was introduced as the “next killer app” and while some think the sizzle […]

Teleworking at Its Finest – Driving Innovation…and Family Time

This week it seems the topic of teleworking has garnered more attention than who wore what at the Oscars. You may have noticed that I’ve been missing from the Cisco blogosphere the past few months. Don’t worry it’s not because I’ve become any less passionate about telepresence and collaboration and what we’re doing here at […]
