Andy Bailnsky is a security researcher that performs security evaluations on Cisco products as a member of the Cisco's Strategic Technology Assurance Team (STAT).

Andy Balinsky started his network security career at the Air Force's Information Warfare Center in 1991. He joined WheelGroup in 1997, and after their acquisition by Cisco in 1998 has worked there since. His experience ranges from wireless networking to video to security products. He is the co-author of the Cisco Press book Cisco Wireless LAN Security, and a founding editorial board member of the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) project. He holds a bachelor's in Computer Science from Harvard University and a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, College Park.

In his personal time, he is an avid environmental advocate, birdwatcher, kayaker, photographer, and cyclist.
