Corporate Communications

"Show and tell and show me again." - Words of wisdom shared by a person wiser than me in my early days as a TV news reporter.

Karen Crocker Snell is one of the editors of the award winning business news site News@Cisco and is leading the social media communication efforts in visual storytelling and innovation as it relates to social media tools for sharing Cisco's many stories. In November 2009, she launched Talk2Cisco, a live, social broadcast, hosted on UStream, that puts viewers directly in touch with Cisco leaders. The show has gained recognition from PR News' Digital Awards.

Prior to joining Cisco, Karen worked as the Assistant Director of Media Relations at Santa Clara University where she was responsible for raising the national profile of the university and managing the award winning community news site.

Karen had a "first career" as a local television news reporter in the New England area where she covered everything from Presidential candidates to Super Bowl playoffs to high school graduation, and just about everything in between. She was on the front lines of some of the largest news events in recent US history.

Karen is a graduate of Mills College and received her Master of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from Boston University.

She is a world traveler (http://theenchilada.tripod.com/), outdoor enthusiast, video maven and on most Sundays you can find her in Santa Cruz, CA with her two young children, her husband and dog , running along East Cliff drive.
