Cisco announced “security without borders” at RSA

March 9, 2010 - 0 Comments

Cisco had a formidable presence at the recent RSA tradeshow in San Francisco, CA, one of the most significant industry events for security professionals. Cisco strengthened its commitment to delivering “security without borders” by announcing several elements including Cisco’s security strategy and vision for borderless networks, a major announcement for Cisco secure mobility, a new solution that redefines endpoint security and the VPN experience, and enhancements to the identity and policy portfolio, including expansion of the TrustSec solution.

Cisco’s Secure Borderless Architecture addresses the challenges of securing the mobile enterprise workforce by connecting anyone, anywhere, using any device with high levels of security. Refer to the following link for a video overview of the RSA announcements and a separate video on how TrustSec helps secure access to enterprise networks and resources (for wired/wireless VPN connections) ensuring endpoint devices adhere to a network-wide security policy enforcement: http://newsroom.cisco.com/dlls/2010/prod_030210.html.  Additionally, the link will direct you to a video case study showing how the Baylor College of Medicine has created a secure borderless network with Cisco security solutions.

Lastly, Cisco has produced a brief video featuring Tom Gillis commenting on RSA announcements, Cisco’s plan for changes to the security business at Cisco, the key trends driving Cisco’s strategy, and how Cisco will continue to differentiate. In addition, the video is a primer on the borderless networks concept: http://newsroom.cisco.com/dlls/2010/ts_030210.html
