As we’ve been discussing this week, Gartner just came out with their Wired and Wireless LAN Infrastructure Magic Quadrant report. If you haven’t had an opportunity to read the report, you should.
We address the subject of the report—the converged wired/wireless network—through a “One Policy, One Management, One Network” approach. “One Management” is made possible with Prime Infrastructure which provides the “best-of-breed” management for end-to-end wired and wireless lifecycle management. That means one place to manage, design, deploy, monitor, optimize, and administer your entire network—regardless of whether the connection is wired or wireless.
Through a single, integrated management solution, you no longer need to stitch together unconnected applications to get a glimpse of the real state of your network. Your IT team only needs to learn one application, greatly simplifying operations while reducing both capital and operation expenses.
Even better, as part of this new solution, you’ll find it very easy to deploy Prime Assurance Manager—our end-to-end performance management tool. Prime Assurance Manager allows you to monitor and manage the performance of applications and processes over the network. You can use this performance data to identify bottlenecks or performance degradation and address end-user and application response time issues in the network.
So maybe we should refine our “One Policy, One Management, One Network” to include “One Solution” because with Cisco Prime, that’s all you need—one solution.
