More on Crowd Sourcing and Digital Cribs

Yesterday I was mentioning how our contests in the Digital Cribs area has been called out as an interesting example of crowdsourcing of creative ideas.

It turns out Cisco’s Ken Wirt, our VP of Consumer Marketing, was just interviewed on this very subject at the Aberdeen CMO Summit (for those not initiated in the arts of marketing, by the way, CMO stands for “Chief Marketing Officer.”)

In the video interview with Enquisite CMO Gregg Makuch, Ken points out that the excitement around the creative contests drives both passionate ideas and also traffic: “People are passionate about it and they want to express themselves.”

Ken also makes some interesting points about how the team promotes the  contests and our Digital Cribs content. Since “Digital Cribs” was a new concept, the team didn’t think users would be searching online for it as a term. Instead, the authors and filmmakers at the site encouraged their own social network to go look at the videos, because part of the program was voting.  This in turn created buzz, attracted more visitors, and generated more great ideas and videos.

I particularly like the new Your Digital Cribs area which showcases some pretty inspiring stories.

Enjoy!

Thanks. I didn’t know about this. Just checked out Paul Van Dyk’s digital crib from your “Digital Cribs” link above. Pretty cool!
