Dan,

Thanks for your question and good observation. A mistake snuck into the blog I posted. You are correct about the C40 not supporting custom layout (or custom video composing), and this has not changed in TC6.0. So the correct is that it is only C90 and C60 which support access custom layout on Touch 8 inch. I would also like to be more precise on how you access the custom layouts on the touch panel, as the drag and drop description could potentially be misleading. Custom layouts are created and stored within the TC Console, and will added to the list of visualized layout choices in the dropdown layout menu on touch panel.

Thanks for your comment and help to clarify on this miscommunication.

Could you please clarify something? You wrote:

"Access to custom layouts on Touch 8 through TC Console: a visual editor that lets you customize different parts of the Cisco Telepresence System Codec C90, C60 and C40 by use of simple drag and drop technique. The latest TC 6.0 updates allow administrators to design custom layouts and make it available on the Touch interface from which users can select."

Previously the C40 did not support custom layouts. Has this changed with TC6.0 or does the C40 still support only support the standard display layouts?

Thanks.

Rohan,

For EX Series we are moving to a dedicated TE SW build, see the blog from Espen Loberg about the TE 6.0, "New Unified Communications Features Add Power and, Flexibility to Cisco Personal Telepresence Systems".

EX Series will support changing layouts on the screen, but the support for custom layouts created through the TC console application is unique for TC SW.

Even though we will continue to share many features between TC and TE SW builds going forward, we will priorities features for meeting rooms needs with TC SW and personal desktop needs for TE SW.

Thanks for your comment.

Great news about being able to change screen layouts via the inTouch. Will this also be available on the EX series endpoints?

These sorts of usability enhancements are great for usability which can only drive video adoption.

Good work
