As Andrew learned the hard way, doing your research before you make an investment pays off, whether you’re buying a car or equipment for your network.
In this episode of Partner Update, we explore total cost of ownership and why it’s the only true way to measure network costs. We also cover storytelling tips and methods learned from esteemed author and presentation expert Nancy Duarte (she created the presentation you see in Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth), our October 18 TweetChat with Nancy, our October 20 broadcast covering LinkedIn for B2B, virtualization technology news, Cisco’s own Edison Peres’ travels to speak with partners in South America, LEAP centers to help partners test out data centers, tips for solution providers, and much more. Have you ever given what you thought was a compelling speech only to hear crickets instead of wild applause from your audience?
Have you ever given a sales pitch that fell flat?
Are you truly connecting with your audience and taking them on a journey or just talking at them?
Presentations are the currency of business communications. Those who master communicating with audiences–whether social media, sales pitches, lead generation, or traditional marketing–rise faster than their peers, reach more customers than their competitors, and turn causes into a groundswell.
Through Cisco’s Partner Velocity program, partners can learn marketing, social media best practices, and tips for engaging with customers from the industry’s leading experts. In our next Virtual Partner Velocity marketing session, we’ll be holding a live online broadcast featuring best-selling author and persuasion expert Nancy Duarte, CEO of Duarte Design.
During the hour-long session on October 11 at 8 a.m. PST, Nancy will demonstrate how to apply the methods in her book Resonate: Presenting Visual Stories That Transform Audiences and build meaningful connections with audiences that compel them to action. She’ll also take your questions live on the air.
Yesterday, my fellow channels blogger Alexandra Krasne hosted our latest Partner Velocity Virtual Broadcast. This time around the topic was trends and best practices in lead generation, and her guest was sales lead expert Brian Carroll. Brian is the executive director of Applied Research at MECLABS and also the author of the popular book, “Lead Generation for the Complex Sale.”
During the broadcast, Brian explained the latest lead generation trends, and he provided some incredibly useful marketing tactics that can be helpful in uncovering leads. Brian also answered audience questions submitted via Twitter.
Missed the broadcast? Here’s a replay.
In addition to the video replay above, we have a text summary of the broadcast below, along with time stamps to identify sections in which Brian addressed specific topics, such as creating buyer personas, social media tactics, optimizing and choosing your B2B marketing mix, and principles for effective telemarketing.
