Scheduling a collaboration meeting is now easier than ever with Cisco TelePresence Management Suite (TMS). With Cisco TMS, users can schedule video meetings as they do any other meeting through Microsoft Outlook. TMS extends the reach of Microsoft Exchange to include video meeting rooms as resources that can be scheduled along with other details for the meeting including attendees, notes, etc. TMS extends the scheduling capabilities of Microsoft Outlook to a company’s telepresence systems with a touch of a button.

Cisco is pleased to be participating in the World Congress Telehealth Executive Summit on January 28-29 in San Diego, CA. This two-day conference targeted at senior executives in payer and provider organizations will feature insightful discussions on virtual care models for specialty services, primary care, follow ups and continuous monitoring.
One of the highlight sessions will feature Dr. Joe Peterson, CEO of Specialists on Call, the nation’s premier provider of specialty physician consultations delivered via telemedicine. Dr. Peterson will discuss the success of their telemedicine program which uses Cisco infrastructure and the Cisco TelePresence VX Clinical Assistant system to provide immediate 24/7/365 access to board-certified specialists.
Dr. Peterson’s session, Creating Commercial & Clinical Synergy: A Key to Unlocking the Value of Telemedicine will take place on Monday, January 28 at 4:00 pm, just before the closing keynote address. He will discuss how to unlock the value of telemedicine through blending clinical quality with strong financial foundations, business ethics and governance. He’ll also provide insights on how to bridge the gap between “white coats” and “suits” to strengthen a telemedicine program.
Luke Leininger, Cisco Telehealth Product Manager, will introduce Dr. Peterson. “I am thrilled to have the honor of introducing Dr. Joe Peterson at this important conference,” says Leininger. “Dr. Peterson is passionate about providing excellent specialist care to patients in all locations within a guaranteed 15-minute response time.”
The Cisco TelePresence VX Clinical Assistant is an easy-to-use, high-definition video collaboration system that is designed for mobility at the point of care. It is ideal for a variety of medical uses, including remote patient consultations, virtual care, and medical education.
Video in the workplace has never been more important. As we continue to use new communication technologies in the office to interact on the job and at home to achieve a greater work life balance, video calling is a large part of our increasingly productive lives. Businesses are improving collaboration between workers, building client relationships, and reducing travel with video calling. In fact, according to Cisco’s most recent VNI study, the global market for business video conferencing will reach $14 billion by 2017.
After a well deserved break and perhaps a bit of indulgence over the holidays, we are now back to the books and looking ahead at what 2013 has in store for education.
With a landmark year for education technology behind us, now is the time to harness the momentum and drive innovation forward in 2013. So as we slither into the year of the snake, here are four high impact trends worth watching:
Transition to hybrid learning: With online courses on the rise, educators will experiment how to best integrate them with traditional teaching methods. This year schools and universities will hone in on the most effective formats for learning in the digital age.
“Telepresence expands the learning environment by offering students a virtual window on the real world, by reducing administration costs so more can be spent on teaching, and offering increased equity of access to learning for all.”
