As the breadth and depth of the ACI solution continues to grow, so does customer interest. Many customers who have invested in, and continue to invest in, the Nexus 2000-7000 switches find the ACI vision very compelling. So, this leads to a logical question regarding how an existing Nexus 2000-7000 fabric will integrate with an ACI fabric.
In short, customers can leverage current Nexus products and add ACI capabilities to their data centers in an incremental manner. Integrating ACI into an existing Nexus environment will not require replacement of existing Nexus switches. The benefits of ACI policy can be extended to apps on both physical and virtual servers within the existing Nexus fabric. In this scenario, the existing Nexus fabric is serving as an optimized transport for an ACI overlay solution. However, this solution is very different from other industry overlay solutions. It’s different in that the ACI overlay provides integrated/embedded support for both physical and virtual servers, it allows use of existing L4-7 infrastructure, while providing the automation functionality of the ACI policy model.
The highly anticipated Wireless Release 8.0 came out last week, and among the feature updates is a key set of enhancements and new modules for Cisco’s CMX solution that come with MSE 8.0. This new feature enables the use of a single access point (AP) to determine device presence and dwell time. 2. Enhancements to Guest Access
Those familiar with CMX Connect will know that there are two guest access solutions available to customers with Cisco CMX. In 2013, globally, there were nearly 22 million wearable devices generating 1.7 petabytes of monthly traffic. There were about 7 billion mobile-ready devices and connections with mobile network connection speeds that have more than doubled, to 1.4Mbps up from 526 Kbps in 2012.
By 2018, there will be more than 10 billion mobile-ready devices and connections. The average mobile connection speed will nearly double, from 1.4 Mbps in 2013 to 2.5 Mbps and over 4.9 billion devices will be IPv6-capable. There will be more traffic offloaded from cellular networks (on to Wi-Fi) than remain on cellular networks.
Numerous impressive submissions demonstrated how straightforward it was to create a new mobile application using the CMX APIs and SDK. The winning entries submitted code, a video demo, and a read me file, which together conveyed their work using real-time location updates to trigger a context-aware push notification.
First place entry from a brand new TopCoder member “gitsIndonesia” received a check for $1500. It included very clean Android Java code which was well-designed and easy to follow, while applying object-oriented practices.
