Combining the Power of Cisco and Apple

In today’s world, technology is changing how we work every day. We’re always on the go – working from anywhere in the world at any time, and we’re increasingly dependent on our mobile devices to keep us connected. We want the best user experience regardless of where we are, and we want to know that we can always connect, that our connection is secure, and that our enterprise apps will simply work.

I’m thrilled about our new partnership we announced today with Apple. We are coming together to optimize Cisco networks for iOS devices and apps, integrating iPhones with Cisco environments and providing unique collaboration capabilities on iPhones and iPads. Together, we will enable mobile apps and experiences that deliver the quality and experience we need while meeting enterprise requirements for management and security.pi_blog-graphic_500x524_083115

Our two companies share a common passion to create a vastly improved mobile work experience. We also recognize the enormous opportunity we have to bring together the leading mobile platform and the leading provider of secure networks and collaboration to make the mobile work experience what it should be. What makes this new partnership unique is that our engineering teams are innovating together to build joint solutions that our sales teams and partners will take jointly to our customers.

Joint Engineering Efforts

Cisco and Apple both have deep cultures of innovation, and each of us brings expertise in complementary areas. There is no doubt our engineering teams will deliver incredible results as they drive deep joint development.

Initially, our teams will focus on:

  • Delivering unparalleled performance and end-to-end solutions on Cisco networks and iOS devices
  • Extending the Cisco Unified Communications experience to the iPhone
  • Transforming team collaboration with iOS experiences on Cisco Spark, Cisco TelePresence, and Cisco WebEx

Strategic partnerships and co-development are both key pillars of Cisco’s innovation strategy. This relationship highlights the value and innovative customer solutions that result when we do both.

Shared Vision

Together, Cisco and Apple will help employees and businesses collaborate and innovate anytime, everywhere, with an amazing user experience every time. We will do this by delivering a high-performance mobile experience for every employee, and a powerful collaboration platform for every business. This partnership is made for today’s mobile, digital world and we could not be more excited about what is possible as we move forward together.

Rewarding Partner Summit 2015 Delivers New Collaboration Offers and More

Every year an incredible amount of preparation goes into my presentation and one-on-ones for Partner Summit. We had 11 or so Spark rooms of various teams coming together to make decisions about demos, graphic design, scripting, statistics, offers, and so on. Lots of hard work (made easier with Spark), but all that effort culminates in a few days that are both rewarding and inspiring. First, we got to hang out with more than 2200 of you in the lovely city of Montreal (while 6000 others tuned in virtually) and hear some great talks from our top leaders.

The second reward I got from all the weeks leading up to Summit where my team was heads down doing research and crunching numbers was gaining a buttoned-up set of facts that support the message I wanted you to walk away with – that disruption creates an opportunity to thrive. The partner trends we uncovered are compelling.

I want to make sure you have those facts and figures at your fingertips. We’ve created a Cisco Worldwide Partner Summit 2015 Collaboration Offers and Announcements page where you can find all the details on our new partner announcements and offers as well as the presentations. I think you’ll find the offers very rewarding, and if you didn’t get a chance to hear Rowan announce them on main stage and in the breakout session, you can find the recordings on the Cisco Virtual Partner Summit site.

Let’s also do a quick recap here of the three big areas you can focus on to seize that window of opportunity we talked about: Read More »

Cisco Partner Summit 2015: Final Thoughts from Cisco Executives

Well, we’re starting to wind down our coverage of Cisco Marketing Velocity and Partner Summit 2015. I’ll put a bow on it and wrap everything up in my Weekly Rewind blog tomorrow, but we still have some ground to cover.

I had the opportunity to speak with several other Cisco executives last week as well, including our newly named CEO successor Chuck Robbins. I know your time is valuable, so I’ve condensed their thoughts into a couple of montage videos I’d like to share with you today. First, let’s take a look at what our executives have been hearing from partners during the past year:

As you can see, Cisco partners are concerned about many of the same things we talked about all week last week. Read More »

Cisco Recognizes Top Partners at 2014 Collaboration Summit

Last night, we kicked off the 10th Cisco Collaboration Summit at the JW Marriott Live in Los Angeles with an awards dinner to honor our partners around the world. Rowan Trollope, Collaboration Technology Group SVP, and I had the privilege of playing masters of ceremonies for the event. Cisco recognized 27 partners for their exemplary performance across 11 categories.

Last night’s fun, excitement, and anticipation was the perfect opening for what’s in store for us over these next few days. Today’s keynotes with John Chambers, Chairman and CEO, Jonathan Rosenberg, VP of the Collaboration Technology Group, Aaron Levie, CEO of Box, and Rowan will reveal amazing new innovations and opportunities that will put collaboration front and center for all of us in 2015. (Be sure to tune into the live streaming event at 1:30 p.m. Pacific or watch the on-demand replay.) You will see that partners are integral to the success of Cisco’s collaboration business. What we achieved this past year, working together, makes it clear we can only reimagine collaboration for our customers by doing it together.

On behalf of Cisco, we thank you for your partnership and applaud you on your success.
