In a previous blog post, I discussed some considerations organizations should keep in mind when selecting a cloud provider. After all, in today’s world of many clouds, organizations must have confidence in their decision – both from a technology and business perspective. This week Cisco announced plans to build a global Intercloud – a network of clouds – together with a set of partners.
Partners are an essential part of Cisco’s DNA. Only through the help of our partners can we provide customers with the world’s largest network of clouds. So far, over 200 Cisco cloud partners have already created 430 Cisco Powered services worldwide. With the addition of Cisco Cloud Services, together, we will have an unmatched portfolio of enterprise class offers.
Cisco is expanding the Cisco Powered program to include Cisco Cloud Services. Cisco will sell these new services through channel partners and directly to end customers. Partners who develop Cisco Powered services can extend their portfolio with unique Cisco technologies such as WebEx, Cisco Cloud Web Security and Meraki, as well as third party applications. This provides a significant opportunity to leverage the scale of a global Intercloud. In doing so, partners can tap into new revenue streams while improving profitability, and business relevance.
At Partner Summit this week, Cisco announced a variety of new offerings for UCS and Mobility.
These solutions offer a host of benefits, helping partners up-level their conversations with customers and profit from high-margin services. However, to ensure partners can help their customers maximize the return on their technology investments, education is a critical piece of the Cisco solutions we offer. Cisco is dedicated to helping partners seize huge mobility opportunities spanning infrastructure, software and services.
As network environments become more sophisticated, incorporating the latest capabilities requires a higher level of aptitude for IT professionals. Properly trained and certified individuals are needed to make networks secure, cost-effective and reliable.
Recognizing the growing demand for professionals capable of designing, implementing, securing, and operating networks and mobility infrastructures, Cisco has designed a variety of training and certification offerings to support this increasing need, such as the CCNA Wireless, CCNP Wireless and CCIE Wireless.
Cisco authorized training and certifications provide organizations and individuals the skills, technical knowledge and expertise to capitalize on the changing business landscape.

Yesterday in Los Angeles, CA I attended XChange Solution Provider, where Cisco was honored with multiple Channel Champions awards. This conference brings together 225 solution provider decision makers from across the United States and Canada and provides a great chance to network. The 24th annual Channel Champions Awards were part of this event, and it was great to see Cisco perform so well once again.
Cisco picked up awards for:
Converged Infrastructure – overall winner and swept the category
Enterprise Networking Infrastructure – overall winner and swept the category
Network Security Appliances – technical satisfaction sub-category
Networking Hardware – overall winner with wins in the technical and support sub-categories
Unified Communications – overall winner and swept category
Video Conferencing – overall winner and swept category
This year saw us strengthen our position in Enterprise Networking Infrastructure where we swept the category, after being the overall winner with two sub-category wins last year. We made the same move in video conferencing this year as well. Also of note, this is the 14th year in a row that we’ve received the overall award for unified communications (UC).
This is no small feat, and I am so proud of Cisco’s strong presence in these Channel Champions awards. We obviously take a lot of pride in winning these awards. Ultimately though, we don’t win these awards at Cisco without our partners’ commitment and hard work.
As always, your efforts and feedback are the reasons we continually evolve our programs and tools. We always strive to give you the best return on your investment in Cisco and I hope these types of awards give you what you need to close deals with Cisco technology. Again, thank you partners! We were awarded these honors, but we earned them together with you. Let me know your thoughts on these latest awards in the comments below.
I look forward to hearing from you at this year’s Partner Summit, which is right around the corner. For those of you not in attendance this year, remember that you can access Virtual Partner Summit (VPS). In fact, I’ll be holding a global executive chat on March 27 as we close out this year’s event. Register for VPS now so you can add my session to your calendar. Bring your questions to that session so we can interact, even if you’re not in Las Vegas at Partner Summit this year.
