We will soon be gathering in Montreal for Cisco Partner Summit 2015. In fact, it’s only a little more than two weeks out at this point. It’s hard to believe it’s been more than a year since we met in Las Vegas last year where we introduced the Cisco Partner Ecosystem.
So much has happened since I last had the opportunity to meet with all our partners at our annual event. As I mentioned back in the fall, we’ve made such a great deal of progress since introducing the Cisco Partner Ecosystem last year. I’ve done my best to keep you up-to-date on our progress throughout the past year and I can’t wait to meet with you again in Montreal to continue the conversation.
I promised you we would continue to cultivate the Cisco Partner Ecosystem in order to benefit you and we are certainly still focused on that approach. We continue to broaden the Cisco Partner Ecosystem, enhance partner enablement and continually look for new growth areas.
I know we have come a long way since last March, but there is so much more to do. I’m proud of what we have accomplished and I’m thrilled that our work is getting attention outside of our partner community as well. In fact, Zeus Kerravala, founder and principal analyst at ZK Research posted just yesterday on Network World his opinion on “How Cisco keeps channel partners out in front of market trends.”
I urge you to read Zeus’ blog. It’s a good look at an opinion outside of our Cisco walls on what has kept our partners happy. Zeus points to innovation in technology and our partner programs. Let me know what you think. Your feedback is what helps us tweak our solutions and our programs in order to help you be successful. Read More »

Cisco Marketing Velocity and Partner Summit are coming up soon, and if you aren’t attending the live event in Montreal, there’s still time to register for Cisco Virtual Partner Summit (VPS). You will be joining thousands of Cisco partners from around the globe for information from Cisco Marketing Velocity and Cisco Partner Summit keynotes, executive chats, and breakout sessions on business-critical topics.
So what’s in store for VPS this year? When you enter VPS, you will see a range of options and tabs that will allow you not only to register for sessions, but also review speaker and related information for these sessions, VPS Dialog information, and get updates on Business Transformation Sessions.
You’ll be able to view the live keynote presentations happening from the main stage in Montreal (replays will be available until June 06), and also participate in breakout sessions targeting different technology segments, business transformation strategies, and market opportunities specific to each region and presented in local times and languages. Each week, we’ll highlight the most important Cisco Partner Ecosystem news and stories, as well as point you to important, Cisco-related partner content you may have missed along the way. Here’s what you might have missed this week:
Off the Top
Sherri Liebo provided a great update this week on Cisco Intercloud. In her blog entitled Cisco Intercloud Makes Strides Leading up to Partner Summit 2015, she gives a quick, but thorough, update on just what Cisco’s been up to since introducing Cisco Intercloud in Las Vegas last year.
Check out her blog for an overview of last year’s launch, a look at what Cisco has accomplished since then and a view forward of what to expect next as we head toward Partner Summit 2015.
Let’s Talk Firsts and Lasts
In case you missed it, John Chambers blogged this week looking back at the 30 year history of Cisco. It’s a nice trip down memory lane for many of us, and a quick history lesson for the rest. John also takes a look at what to expect during the next thirty years. Be sure to check it out! Read More »

The “We’re Listening” blog series has always focused on what Cisco is hearing from both our customers and partners, and the improvements we’re making to the customer and partner experience. However, the partner experience deserves unique attention for the critical role that partners play in our business ecosystem.
Within Cisco, we have a huge focus on the Partner perspective and how to optimize success for our partnerships. As Vice President of Cisco’s Worldwide Partner Organization, Maria Cannon is responsible for the strategies that develop and enable Cisco Partners. I’ve asked Maria to join us for an expert view on what defines a successful partner engagement, and what Cisco is doing today to transform the partner experience for greater success for both our partners and end customers.

Partners are a key part of Cisco’s strategy to deliver successful outcomes for our end customers. Cisco depends on a global network of Partners to provide scale, skills, and capabilities at both local and global levels. Attending partner events around the world, including the recent Partner Summit in Las Vegas, Nevada, I have the fortunate opportunity to meet and speak directly with many Cisco channel partners. While the details vary, the general theme coming from these conversations is the same: customers are evolving their business models and have new technology requirements aligned to whole business solutions.
