Each week, we’ll highlight the most important Cisco Partner Ecosystem news and stories, as well as point you to important, Cisco-related partner content you may have missed along the way. Here’s what you might have missed this week:
Off the Top
By now I’m sure you’ve seen the news that Bruce Klein is leaving Cisco and his role as senior vice president of the Worldwide Partner Organization, and we are welcoming Wendy Bahr into the role, effective July 27. I hope you’ll join me in congratulating Wendy and thanking Bruce for his tremendous leadership during the past three years. We wish him all the best in his next adventure!
I have had the pleasure of working with both of these leaders here at Cisco, and while I’m certainly sad to see Bruce leave, I know Wendy will be a great leader for Cisco’s Partner Organization. She backed that up in an exclusive Q&A with CRN this week. If you want a glimpse at what’s at the top of Wendy’s mind as she takes over the Cisco Worldwide Partner Organization, be sure to read the CRN interview.
Boost your video sales with Cisco’s summer incentives
The show must go on of course, and Richard McLeod had a great blog earlier this week about how partners can boost sales with several incentives available to them right now. Richard touched on VIP, TMP and the Not for Resale program, and he pointed out specifically where video ties into those programs. Want some tips on maximizing your video sales for the next few weeks? Check out Richard’s blog. Read More »
Cisco and Microsoft understand the power of a connected ecosystem of partners. Together, we’ve developed a robust portfolio of data center and cloud solutions that is igniting opportunities for our channel partners to address their customers’ business transformation initiatives. The Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) is the perfect opportunity to learn how the Cisco and Microsoft partnership can help you reach new markets and drive the next wave of profitable growth.
Dimension Data and Scalability Experts are prime examples of the Cisco connected partner ecosystem. Both partners delivered transformative solutions built on FlexPod, the Cisco UCS Integrated Infrastructure jointly developed with NetApp. Cisco is honored to be recognized alongside Dimension Data and NetApp as the Microsoft Partner of the Year in the Modern Data Center, Customer Focus category for the Zero Touch (Microsoft Private Cloud) solution at ING Direct. We’d also like to congratulate Scalability Experts for winning the Microsoft Data Platform Partner of the Year Award for the amazing results attained with the SQL Server 2014 on FlexPod solution at Iforium.
Microsoft and Cisco have been committed to deliver the value of Application Centric Infrastructure to Microsoft users since the announcement of ACI. This video from Brad Anderson, Microsoft CVP, Windows Server and System Center demonstrates the value Microsoft sees in ACI since.
Like many of us I am in the wonderful city of Chicago on a warm sunny day preparing Cisco’s presence for Microsoft Ignite 2015. Starting Monday in booth #122 at McCormick Place we’ll be showcasing our leading solutions for the Microsoft stack. Stop by if you are here!
Our Ignite focus will be on our core technologies: our UCS family for compute, the Nexus portfolio for switching, and our industry leading integrated infrastructure solutions. In addition we will breakout some cool new Cisco technologies and solutions but you are going to have to wait until Tuesday morning to get that news!
Springtime is a heavy tech show season. This week in Las Vegas, we won Best of Interop in the SDN category with the APIC. Next week we are headed to Chicago to talk about the APIC and ACI at Microsoft’s largest and most comprehensive technology event, Microsoft Ignite. As data center customers look to Microsoft’s Cloud Platform with Windows Server 2012 with HyperV, System Center Virtual Machine Manager, and Windows Azure Pack; they will be modernizing their infrastructure, looking for scaled performance, fast deployment, efficient networking, and extended manageability. UCS and ACI deliver a powerful solution to achieve these objectives. To share our networking perspectives on this, Shashi Kiran and I will be there to deliver a new business and technical session entitled:
Microsoft Cloud Meets Cisco’s ACI on Tuesday May 5 from 1:30PM to 2:45PM in S105A, McCormick Place Convention Center, Chicago, IL
Technology must enable a new process model for speeding up workflows across siloed organizations within the IT function. This session will introduce Cisco’s Application Centric Infrastructure and its tight integration into Microsoft Azure clouds. We’ll show how you can deliver new tenant services while transforming your IT organization and workflows with a common policy model, centralized control, and simplified operational visibility across your data center. We’ll demonstrate how your applications, network and security teams can leverage a new operational model to generate compelling business outcomes for your enterprise.
This infographic provides a little preview on what we’ll share.
