We heard from so many partners at our Barcelona Partner Velocity event in December and on our Cisco Channels Facebook page that this is the year you’re going to start a new marketing plan and become more active in social media.
Is this the year you’re going to make your Twitter debut? Will you drive more customers to your blog in 2011? Want to better engage your fans via Facebook?
Whatever your goals, we’ve got a way to ensure that your 2011 marketing efforts get off to a great start.

2010, what a year it was. Let’s see, it was the Year of the Tiger, the year of “Write the Rules, Own the Game,” the year of Cisco raps, and the year that Cisco and Tandberg joined forces.
There were so many momentous events that shaped 2010. While it’s impossible to list all of them, we put together a video and a rap to commemorate some of the events that happened over the past 365 days. Our video also includes best wishes for good tidings in 2011 from a number of different WWPO leaders.
Curious about the clips we featured in the video? Check out the following events that made the cut, and let us know your highlights.
Barcelona is a great city—with its fantastic Basque food, gorgeous beachside location, and beautiful architecture courtesy of famed architect Antonio Gaudi, this Spanish city can’t be beat.
Next week, Barcelona will play host to partners from around the world who will be convening there to attend Partner Velocity, our annual event focused on giving our partners the insight, knowledge, and networking they need to accelerate their marketing.
This year, we’ll be providing our partners with access to the inside scoop on the latest social media and web 2.0 marketing trends. We’ll also have two sessions on marketing the cloud.
It’s Thanksgiving time in United States—on this holiday, we remember the things for which we are grateful, while also digging in to a hearty meal of roast turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and lots of side dishes (or just nosh on the side dishes, like me—I’m vegetarian.)
I’m sure many would give thanks for a warm house, family, friends, our health, a job. Of course, at Cisco, we also give thanks for the many people who support what we do every day. And that goes especially to you, our partners: Thank you for your continued commitment to Cisco.
So while I take a few days off to give thanks and enjoy a meal with my family and friends, I wanted to share a few tools and sites that will help you navigate Cisco’s offerings for partners.
While the list is long, we want to be sure that you know that there are multiple sources of information to help you in your everyday work with Cisco. And don’t worry, you won’t be tested.
Video truly is the killer app. Now, I know you’ve been hearing this from me and other Cisco leaders for many years now, but the stats don’t lie.
In fact, did you know people are watching 2 billion videos a day, and uploading 24 hours of new video every minute to YouTube? And that’s just YouTube, which according to comScore accounts for only 26% of the world’s online video viewing. Talk about a true killer app!
For those of us in the marketing world, video is one of the best platforms for communicating with your audience, and that’s what I talk about in Part One of my three-part Marketing Minute series on how to use video.
