Last week I had a chance to spend time with some of our Cisco Partners at the 2015 Best of Breed Conference in Orlando. The conference focused on the disruptive technologies that are transforming our business landscape and what leaders can do to both embrace these changes and innovate to retain – and capture – market share. I really enjoyed Jeremy Gutsche’s keynote “Better and Faster: The Proven Path to Unstoppable Ideas” and Robert Faletra’s interview with Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins.
What really struck a chord with me was during Logicalis CEO Vince DeLuca’s keynote. Vince shared his insights on how the rapid changes in IT are dramatically impacting engagement models with customers and partners.

The Logicalis survey of CIOs shows what we’ve seen in the industry for a while now: Budgets and decision making are steadily shifting to the line of business (LOB) and more purchases are being made outside of IT.
The statistic that really jumped out at me is that 66% of CIOs surveyed report that the IT department is responsible for managing LOB-purchased technologies and services. My take-away on this is that IT doesn’t always participate in the strategic discussions, but they are still accountable for the management of these decisions. If these business decisions complement their IT environment, great; if not, it’s their headache to figure out.

Sometimes for series such as Partner Voices, I spend a lot of time planning. I will often spend a lot of time on the phone, sending emails out and generally trying to dig up the latest and greatest Cisco Partner success stories. Sometimes, though, happy accidents do happen and a great story just falls right into my lap.
A few weeks back, I was reading some “back to school” articles. Now I don’t have children, mind you. My wife and I just have our pack of dogs, but it was “back to school” time and I was sifting through a few items some friends with children had posted on Facebook. In the midst of those articles, I stumbled upon a press release from Logicalis called Back to School: Logicalis Helps IT Pros Master Video Collaboration Planning.
If you missed their release back in September, check it out. It does a good job of simplifying just why video collaboration is becoming pervasive and how it makes the world smaller for students. The release walks you through some of the planning involved in video collaboration and then invites you to learn more.
Well, my curiosity was piqued as I was sure that somewhere in there was a Partner Voices blog for Cisco. Since Logicalis is a great partner of Cisco, I reached out through some contacts and was able to talk to Brent Graves, Account Manager, Logicalis; and Lisa Dreher, VP of Marketing at Logicalis. Heading into Partner Summit in Las Vegas at the end of the month, we have been bringing you waves of news related to this year’s event. Well it’s time we made the conversation less about Cisco and more about Cisco’s partners.
This marks the third year of the Cisco Partner Ambassador program. It provides partners with the opportunity to share their thoughts and impressions about the news they hear about during Cisco Partner Summit. As we continue to evolve the Partner Ambassador program, we are working hard to shape the mix of global resellers, distributors, and Independent Software Vendors (ISV) to more closely represent the participants at Partner Summit. Just like last year, we even have some partner ambassadors who won’t be onsite in Las Vegas, but will be joining us via Virtual Partner Summit (VPS).
Our partner ambassadors will be blogging and tweeting before, during, and after Partner Summit. As always, we’re excited to hear their perspectives and look forward to sharing their content with you. Be sure to follow our hashtag, #ciscops14, to follow their content and to offer your own feedback. We also created a convenient Cisco Partner Ambassadors twitter list to make it easy for you to subscribe to all handles, including some related twitter handles from the partner ambassadors.
Now let’s meet the ambassadors for Partner Summit 2014. Each partner ambassador was kind enough to provide some information about how they play in the Cisco Ecosystem and where you can track their social media information. Read More »

As we dive into Partner Summit in Boston next week, we’ll be offering you plenty of news and key information, as well as ways to keep track of all of it via Cisco Channels social media. But the social conversation around Partner Summit certainly isn’t just about us—it’s also about you, our partners.
We launched the Cisco Partner Ambassador program last year, to provide a range of partners with the opportunity to share their thoughts and impressions from Partner Summit. This year, we’re excited to announce that the program not only will continue, but also has been expanded, with a fuller representation of the global Cisco channel community confirmed to participate, including partners who will be joining us primarily through Virtual Partner Summit.
Each of our Partner Ambassadors will be blogging, tweeting, and sharing content via Facebook and LinkedIn, before, during, and after Partner Summit. We’re excited to hear the perspectives they have, and look forward to sharing their content with all of you, too. Follow along throughout the event – don’t forget #ciscops13 for Tweets — and feel free to offer your feedback. For reference, we have created a Twitter list of all of our Ambassadors’ Twitter handles.
Let’s meet our 10 Ambassadors for Partner Summit 2013. I asked each to share a little about their specialties and where they focus in the Cisco ecosystem, so what follows is each partner’s description and where to find their social content throughout the event. Read More »

This is the latest in a series of posts featuring partner success stories where partners share how they’re helping customers achieve their goals by using Cisco technology. This week we’re pleased to feature Chris Gabriel, Vice President of Solutions Management, Logicalis Group.
Say you are the CMO of a retailer who has just surveyed your customers and found that providing an iPad-enabled queue jumping option in your stores would make them three times more likely to choose you over a competitor. Wow! A Eureka moment if ever there was one.
Now say you are the COO of a major manufacturer who has just realized that your business is producing a mountain of data that if used in real time could reduce your cost base by 2% and improve your margins and competitive edge. Pow! The value of big data hits you right between the eyes.
These moments of insight are now happening more and more at a faster pace. New technologies transform the way we think about our world; just think how many new business apps are available on your iPad, and it’s only three years old. There’s a lesson in this speed, and it’s that looking smart in the IT world isn’t about how much technical jargon you know, but rather how quickly you can enable your customer to meet its business priorities.
