Cisco Blog > Collaboration
Ever wondered who’s on a WebEx? Here’s a look at global activity that’s refreshed every few minutes.

Click in and take a look. You will see the host’s location and how many people are participating in the meeting. Some people are even in a one-person meeting, which I imagine means they are recording content to share with others or post on their website.
WebEx Makes the World a Little Smaller
What I find amazing is how many people are video conferencing from very remote locations -- really shows the power of the Internet and how it allows for collaboration no matter where you are!
If you use WebEx, you can see the power of the WebEx network. If you are hosting a WebEx event or have a recorded WebEx posted that’s public, let us know. Send us a tweet @WebExEvents and we’ll retweet your information to our network.
If you haven’t tried WebEx yet, you can get a free trial and download WebEx mobile free (you need an account if you want to host from a mobile; attending is free).

E-ticket: check. Hotel room reservation: check. Fancy outfit: check. Cute shoes: check, check. We’re only a day away from BlogHer|BET 2011 and just like how participants are getting ready for this event, so are we at Cisco. But our list goes something like this: Reception hors d’oeuvres: check. Sound: check. Lighting: check. TelePresence Suites: check. Virtual Concierge: check…and check.
This will be the first time in BlogHer history that we bring women together for a few hours in 3 US locations for idea exchange, networking and some good, old-fashioned fun. Participants will be able to see and interact with each other live and in life size. Yes, ladies: life size. Amy Friedlander Hoffman, Founder of Priority Digital Media and BlogHer mentor looks forward to this experience: “I’m familiar with virtual spaces, however I’ve never been to a Public TelePresence Suite before. Priority Digital Media is a strategic consulting practice that focuses on content and distribution strategies across TV, broadband and mobile and thus, I am excited to see how this next level of interaction will translate into future entertainment experiences”.

I’m participating in a panel discussion at PayPal on Thursday evening about using social media for social good. This is the inaugural meeting of the Social Media Club – Silicon Valley, and it will be a great opportunity to meet some social media professionals.
I’m extremely interested in this discussion, as I am only 3 months into my new role as Marketing Strategy Manager for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). I believe social media is powering a revolution in social causes today.
Please join us at this event if you’re in the bay area, and if you can’t make it, I’ll post a follow up blog and try to capture some video interviews.
