Cisco Partner Weekly Rewind – February 6, 2015

Partner-Weekly-Rewind-v2Each week, we’ll highlight the most important Cisco Partner Ecosystem news and stories, as well as point you to important, Cisco-related partner content you may have missed along the way. Here’s what you might have missed this week:

Off the Top

Gary Serda kicked off this past week on the Partner Blog with his look at capitalizing on the Windows Server 2003 migration opportunity. Microsoft is ending support for Windows Server 2003 on July 14 of this year and Gary wants to make sure our partners are able to take advantage of the marketing campaign resources that are available from Cisco.

Read through Gary’s blog and let us know if you need more information. Don’t be afraid to share your feedback on how we’re doing in providing the information you need to be successful.

Partner Voices: Making the Grade

I always mention how much I enjoy our ongoing Partner Voices series. It gives me a chance to meet many of our partners, at least virtually, and to get a little more in-depth with all the great solutions being produced by Cisco partners.

This week, I posted a look at what ePlus has going on in the education space. This blog looks at how ePlus has tackled some real world problems using Cisco technology. In turn they have improved security, provided world-class technology to students and created unique, one-on-one learning opportunities for students. Read More »

Partner Voices: Making the Grade

This past week, I had the opportunity to speak with Dawn Kerwick, Vice-President of Marketing at ePlus. She had some great insight into what ePlus has been doing in the education sector, and I wanted to share that with you as part of the Partner Voices series. Rather than hear me blather on, I’ll just turn it over and let you hear what Dawn had to say, in her own words:

If you talk to any school district today, you’ll hear a common goal.  They want to give students the skills they need to thrive in the 21st century.  Putting the latest technology into the hands of students and their teachers—and equipping schools with a leading IT infrastructure—are key.  Working together, ePlus and Cisco have been doing just that,  and earning rave reviews in the process.

ePlus has a long history serving the K-12 and higher education markets.  We understand their challenges.  We have experience under our belt helping them achieve their technology visions.   And we’ve been successful at transforming classrooms into collaborative learning environments—allowing students and teachers to interact without boundaries.

We have a great story to tell, and some pretty neat videos to prove it!  Please take a few minutes to check out the videos here, and hear directly from our joint customers about how ePlus helped them leverage Cisco technology to create a first-class learning experience for their students. Off the Top

Sherri Liebo posted this week on the Cisco Partner Plus program. Following up on her post about midmarket last month, Sherri provided expanded information on Partner Plus and how partners can take advantage of its three tier system to grow and expand in midmarket.

If you’re interested in learning more about just how this fits into The Cisco Partner Ecosystem, be sure to check out Sherri’s blog, and let us know what you think! Read More »

Partner Voices: Back to the Future. Lifecycle Management in 2014.

Oftentimes when putting together the Cisco Partner Voices blogs, it’s easier to just back off and let the partner tell their own story. With this week’s entry from ePlus, I did just that, asking Mike Trojecki, senior director, Cisco National Practice and Emerging Technologies, ePlus to speak about lifecycle management in 2014. Here is what Mike had to say:

The year was 1985.  Ronald Reagan was President of the United States, Wham! topped the charts with Careless Whisper, and Marty McFly and Doc Brown were rewriting history in one of the best movies of the 80’s. In this same era, the term “lifecycle management” made its debut by American Motor Corporation.

If you are like most organizations that I speak with, you are mired in spreadsheets and multitudes of network management tools—fighting fires so often that you can’t spend the time needed to align technology with your lines of business. The truth is that Wood, Hewlin and Lah were correct in Consumption Economics: The New Rules of Tech when they stated that there is a growing gap between what manufacturers, systems integrators and value added resellers are trying to sell you, and what can possibly be adopted and deployed. This leaves you in the unenviable position of deploying products without realizing all of the features that were supposed to provide ROI (you know, in Back to the Future speak, that would get your businesses’ flux capacitor up to 1.21 gigawatts and cruising along at 88 MPH). Cisco Partner Weekly Rewind – March 14, 2014

Each week, we’ll highlight the most important Cisco partner news and stories, as well as point you to important, Cisco-related partner content you may have missed along the way. Here’s what you might have missed this week:

We are getting really, really close to Cisco Partner Summit 2014. I have not started packing yet, but I will start planning that out soon. Oh never mind, who am I kidding? I am the world’s worst procrastinator when it comes to packing. I’ll probably still be stuffing things into my bag on the way to the airport.

Regardless of my lack of planning when it comes to what I’ll be wearing in Las Vegas, we have put together a great social media plan for our partners heading into this year’s Partner Summit. We have already shared with you our general kickoff information and the social media contests for this year. This week we have some more Partner Summit information for you, but first, let’s talk about the latest post from Richard McLeod. Read More »
