Sherri Liebo posted this week on the Cisco Partner Plus program. Following up on her post about midmarket last month, Sherri provided expanded information on Partner Plus and how partners can take advantage of its three tier system to grow and expand in midmarket.

If you’re interested in learning more about just how this fits into The Cisco Partner Ecosystem, be sure to check out Sherri’s blog, and let us know what you think! Read More »

Partner Voices: Back to the Future. Lifecycle Management in 2014.

December 18, 2014 at 7:30 am PST

Oftentimes when putting together the Cisco Partner Voices blogs, it’s easier to just back off and let the partner tell their own story. With this week’s entry from ePlus, I did just that, asking Mike Trojecki, senior director, Cisco National Practice and Emerging Technologies, ePlus to speak about lifecycle management in 2014. Here is what Mike had to say:

The year was 1985.  Ronald Reagan was President of the United States, Wham! topped the charts with Careless Whisper, and Marty McFly and Doc Brown were rewriting history in one of the best movies of the 80’s. In this same era, the term “lifecycle management” made its debut by American Motor Corporation.

If you are like most organizations that I speak with, you are mired in spreadsheets and multitudes of network management tools—fighting fires so often that you can’t spend the time needed to align technology with your lines of business. The truth is that Wood, Hewlin and Lah were correct in Consumption Economics: The New Rules of Tech when they stated that there is a growing gap between what manufacturers, systems integrators and value added resellers are trying to sell you, and what can possibly be adopted and deployed. This leaves you in the unenviable position of deploying products without realizing all of the features that were supposed to provide ROI (you know, in Back to the Future speak, that would get your businesses’ flux capacitor up to 1.21 gigawatts and cruising along at 88 MPH). Cisco Partner Weekly Rewind – March 14, 2014

March 14, 2014 at 9:03 am PST

Each week, we’ll highlight the most important Cisco partner news and stories, as well as point you to important, Cisco-related partner content you may have missed along the way. Here’s what you might have missed this week:

We are getting really, really close to Cisco Partner Summit 2014. I have not started packing yet, but I will start planning that out soon. Oh never mind, who am I kidding? I am the world’s worst procrastinator when it comes to packing. I’ll probably still be stuffing things into my bag on the way to the airport.

Regardless of my lack of planning when it comes to what I’ll be wearing in Las Vegas, we have put together a great social media plan for our partners heading into this year’s Partner Summit. We have already shared with you our general kickoff information and the social media contests for this year. This week we have some more Partner Summit information for you, but first, let’s talk about the latest post from Richard McLeod. Read More »

Introducing This Year’s Cisco Partner Ambassadors

March 13, 2014 at 6:26 am PST

Heading into Partner Summit in Las Vegas at the end of the month, we have been bringing you waves of news related to this year’s event. Well it’s time we made the conversation less about Cisco and more about Cisco’s partners.

This marks the third year of the Cisco Partner Ambassador program. It provides partners with the opportunity to share their thoughts and impressions about the news they hear about during Cisco Partner Summit. As we continue to evolve the Partner Ambassador program, we are working hard to shape the mix of global resellers, distributors, and Independent Software Vendors (ISV) to more closely represent the participants at Partner Summit. Just like last year, we even have some partner ambassadors who won’t be onsite in Las Vegas, but will be joining us via Virtual Partner Summit (VPS).

Our partner ambassadors will be blogging and tweeting before, during, and after Partner Summit. As always, we’re excited to hear their perspectives and look forward to sharing their content with you. Be sure to follow our hashtag, #ciscops14, to follow their content and to offer your own feedback. We also created a convenient Cisco Partner Ambassadors twitter list to make it easy for you to subscribe to all handles, including some related twitter handles from the partner ambassadors.

Now let’s meet the ambassadors for Partner Summit 2014. Each partner ambassador was kind enough to provide some information about how they play in the Cisco Ecosystem and where you can track their social media information. Read More »

Partner Voices: ePlus Provides Key Benefits with FlexPod Solution

March 11, 2014 at 7:34 am PST

In our ongoing Partner Voices blog series, we always look for interesting solutions provided by our partners using Cisco technology or services. As such, I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to speak with many Cisco Partners about some of the more interesting solutions they have provided for clients. It’s always nice to talk about the “fun” stuff, and this latest Partner Voices blog is no different.

I recently spoke with several folks at ePlus about a FlexPod deployment they installed for Exostar. This solution is covered in depth in a full case study that is well worth your time to read. I wanted to make sure we took the opportunity to highlight that success story in our Partner Voices blog too, as there were some significant benefits delivered to Exostar with this deployment.

Exostar powers secure business-to-business information sharing, collaboration and business process integration. They handle the needs of many leaders in aerospace, defense and the life sciences. As you can imagine, this creates the need for a highly secure environment for that information. Read More »
