In Bruce’s blog to kick off the week, he mentioned that Edison Peres was one of the CRN Channel Chiefs for 2015. Edison is no stranger to the Cisco Partner Blog, having posted here on numerous occasions, with many more postings to come. As such, most of you know him well, but let’s take a closer look.
In his role as Senior VP of the Cloud and Managed Services Partner Organization, Edison Peres leads the recruitment and enablement of an extensive worldwide cloud and managed services partner ecosystem, and is responsible for developing the go-to-market strategies, programs and field relationships to drive the adoption of Cisco’s cloud value proposition.
During his 13 years at Cisco, Edison has pioneered many of Cisco’s innovative sales and channel strategies. He helped design and evolve Cisco’s industry leading partner program with unique incentive programs such as the Value Incentive Program (VIP) and Opportunity Incentive Program (OIP). Read More »

If you remember my blog from about this time last year, CRN announces its list of Channel Chiefs, and it’s quite an honor to be named to the list. According to CRN, the people named to their Channel Chiefs’ list head up the partner programs that we all depend on, and they do it with professionalism year in and year out.
I am again extremely honored to be one of the named Channel Chiefs this year. As always though, I really wanted to post today in order to make sure you were all aware of my five colleagues who were named this year. I can’t tell you how excited we are at Cisco to have six of our executives recognized by CRN, two years in a row.
I also wanted our partners to know that our executives don’t get recognized in this way without you. We have only put ourselves into a position where our executives win recognition because of the countless hours of work you have put in, and the incredible feedback you have provided us. Hearing from you about how Cisco is doing is the lifeblood that keeps our partner programs fresh and effective, so keep it coming.
Oh and one last thing, CRN also recognized us as one of the top 100 coolest cloud vendors and included us on the CRN Data Center 100 list for 2015 in the Infrastructure Providers Category. Pretty great news in a space where many people said we were out of our depth!
Now without further fanfare, please join me in congratulating the CRN Channel Chiefs at Cisco this year: Read More »

We had the opportunity this week to hear from Edison Peres on how Cloud Builders Monetize Intercloud by Helping Customers Create Hybrid IT. If you’re interested in how building data centers and private clouds have become such a big part of the partner business, be sure to check out Edison’s blog.
If you are already a private cloud builder it’s great reinforcement for what you’re already doing and we would love to hear from all of you. Let us know what you think of Edison’s latest blog post.

If you had a chance to check out the Cisco Global Cloud Index, it’s no real surprise that data center traffic will nearly triple over the next five years and cloud traffic will nearly quadruple. Customers want cloud solutions to lower cost, speed up IT services delivery, and create business agility—but they don’t necessarily want to do it all themselves.
For our channel partners, building data centers and private clouds has become a significant part of their business. In fact, we’ve seen exponential growth from partners who are building private clouds to help customers create a hybrid cloud environment, where using private and public clouds helps lower IT cost and increase capacity.
Cisco is committed to providing our partners with the tools they need to meet the needs of their customers, including integrated infrastructure stacks for private cloud builders. I’m excited about our most recent announcement of VersaStack with IBM. This new offering as well as our integrated offerings with NetApp, VCE/EMC, and Red Hat enables our partners to build and operate secure and policy-driven hybrid cloud environments for their customers.
In this new hybrid world, customers will need their partners to help manage workloads and migrate applications on and off public clouds. So, cloud builders who offer professional services to build and operate hybrid IT environments have substantial new revenue opportunities. Read More »
