Security Industry Visionary Joins Cisco

We are in the middle of several major market trends and transitions, including mobility, cloud and virtualization. Enter Bret Hartman.

Bret has joined Cisco as the new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the Security Technology Group, which encompasses all of Cisco’s core security products. For Cisco, Bret will define our overall security technology strategy, particularly as it relates to how security technology integrates across the network infrastructure. Ensuring that our strategy transitions into value-added customer solutions will be critical as we move to an integrated security architecture that leverages the network.

Cisco CTO Padmasree Warrior talks World Economic Forum Experience

Armed with my Flip Camera, I had a chance to catch up today with Padmasree Warrior, Cisco’s Chief Technology Officer.  This is her first trip to the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland.

Padma talks about her experiences in the technology tract, as well as being a little star struck by WEF attendees.  Padma notes that cloud computing is a hot topic at this year’s event, and trend Cisco is well positioned to lead.

CTO Padmasree Warrior To Lead Cisco Enterprise, Commercial and Small Biz Development Team

It is often said that the only constant is change.  Cisco is no different.  We know that innovation and change are the cornerstones to Cisco’s continued success.

We are excited to announce that our Chief Technical Officer, Padmasree Warrior, will add the duties of being SVP/GM of our Enterprise, Commercial and Small Business Development Group.  This is the heart of Cisco’s business and we are fortunate to have the talent of an (ahem) warrior take over this industry leading team of over 10,000 world-class engineering talent.

Warrior joined Cisco in 2007 as CTO reporting to Cisco Chairman and CEO John Chambers and has quickly established herself as a technology visionary in areas such as cloud computing, mobility, the future of Internet technology and more.
