We Asked, You Answered: Our 25 Words or Less Contest Winners!

You Cisco partners are a creative lot—when we asked you to send us your thoughts on how Cisco products improve the network, we discovered that so many of you are true writers at heart.

We also found that Cisco products have impacted your customers’ bottom line and improved productivity. Whether you deployed Cisco Nexus switches, a collaboration portfolio, Catalyst switches, or WAN optimizations solutions, your customers are getting the high-quality products and fantastic total cost of ownership that they deserve.

We think all of our partners are winners, but there can only be two contest winners. This contest was about success stories and how Cisco products have improved the network. We reviewed all the entries, discussed the merits and two entries rose above the rest to be crowned: Our Winners!

Without further ado, here they are:

What’s New? Partner Update Newscast Recaps Top Cisco Headlines, in Less Than 5 Minutes

November 30, 2011 at 1:55 pm PST

It’s time for another Partner Update newscast. This week, Andrew’s feeling a bit hungry and tries unsuccessfully to eat an air sandwich. The concept of an air sandwich is explained in detail during a live Virtual Partner Velocity broadcast with speaker, strategist, and New How author Nilofer Merchant. While the air sandwich may be low in fat and calories, it’s also lacking in taste. In the business world, an air sandwich can mean a company lacks innovation. Grab a real sandwich and tune into this episode of Partner Update to learn how to get rid of air sandwiches.

This newcast’s highlights also include: WebEx and Jabber news from the Collaboration Summit, incentives for partners, SMARTnet service deals, CRN’s Top 100 stars of the IT industry, how to enter our new contest, ways Cisco is helping partners with marketing, a recap of our Twitter chat with Cisco’s VP of Global Partner Marketing, a new free social media ebook for partners, and more.

Keep reading for additional information on the news we covered, links, and time stamps so you can forward ahead to the items that interest you.

In a Network State of Mind

Innovative managed ISR G2 marketing with crowdsourcing platform jovoto

The ISR G2 is one of Cisco’s most versatile products -- it delivers next generation WAN and network services, enables the cost-effective delivery of high-definition video and collaboration, and provides the secure transition to the next generation of cloud and virtualized network services.

Cisco has teamed with jovoto on an innovative marketing initiative to develop creative yet focused campaign concepts for managed ISR G2.  jovoto is an online collaboration platform that delivers creative collective intelligence and builds on the concept of co collaboration with its global community. It establishes a sustainable partnership between brands that seek ideas and creative idea-driven individuals and communities.

Launching on August 23, Cisco and jovoto will run a six week contest to challenge the jovoto community to create concepts that communicate a compelling value proposition for the ISR G2. Anyone can submit new ideas, review the submissions, and provide feedback and comments to make them even better. There are prizes for the top ideas and for the highest ‘karma’ points -- the most active participants who comment and help shape these ideas.

We want YOU!  Are you a designer with amazing ideas for how to turn the ISR G2 value proposition into an great marketing campaign? Submit an idea (or five)! Are you an IT professional who we’d want to hook? Give your candid feedback and tell us if these ideas would get you to think about ISR G2.

See the “In a Network State of Mind” contest landing page to get started.

Ready, Set, BlogHer: Behind the Scenes with Cisco (#BlogHerbet)

March 23, 2011 at 4:20 pm PST

E-ticket: check. Hotel room reservation: check. Fancy outfit: check. Cute shoes: check, check. We’re only a day away from BlogHer|BET 2011 and just like how participants are getting ready for this event, so are we at Cisco. But our list goes something like this: Reception hors d’oeuvres: check. Sound: check. Lighting: check. TelePresence Suites: check. Virtual Concierge: check…and check.

This will be the first time in BlogHer history that we bring women together for a few hours in 3 US locations for idea exchange, networking and some good, old-fashioned fun. Participants will be able to see and interact with each other live and in life size. Yes, ladies: life size. Amy Friedlander Hoffman, Founder of Priority Digital Media and BlogHer mentor looks forward to this experience: “I’m familiar with virtual spaces, however I’ve never been to a Public TelePresence Suite before. Priority Digital Media is a strategic consulting practice that focuses on content and distribution strategies across TV, broadband and mobile and thus, I am excited to see how this next level of interaction will translate into future entertainment experiences”.
