A post in ZDNet declared that Cisco has its “top honors” at CES, stating that “Cisco’s vision for Connected TV represents what CES is all about – a revolutionary idea that gets both consumers and the industry excited.” The team both on and off-site at CES is understandably honored by the distinction but it’s important to note that our service provider partners are just as deserving of the award as they have played an active role help us shape the vision and create what is known today as “Videoscape,.”
While I’ve been dealing mostly with press and analysts, Pankaj Patel, the senior vice president and general manager of the service provider group here at Cisco, has been spending the vast majority of his time with customers, so we tracked him down to get a summary of their reactions. One of the goals of my videos this week here at CES is to provide a 360 view of the Videoscape solution we announced. One question that we are often asked is if this is really just a new “box” or set of technologies.
