In years past we’ve delivered on what we call “Megatests” -- comprehensive evaluations that validate our performance claims. The most recent “Megatest” was initiated by Light Reading to assess Cisco’s CloudVerse architecture, and represents the industry’s first and only end-to-end test of public cloud infrastructure. The first of four reports focused on the Unified Data Center, including Unified Compute (Cisco UCS), Unified Fabric (Nexus family), and Unified Management.
The biggest buzzword in the network industry is Cloud: the majority of organizations have a strategy to use cloud-based services and applications, whether it be Public or Private clouds. Organizations have come a long way since ’migrating to the cloud’ discussions began . Take a look at this video recorded just a few years ago when cloud was still an enigma:
But Cloud has never been a new concept: IT professionals have been migrating applications to centralized datacenters for decades now…mainly to share recourses and save money by having less IT personnel supporting branch offices. Unfortunately, application performance as well as reliability and uptime requirements quickly became barriers to this centralization. Read More »
Cloud Connect is (as you might expect) all about cloud. At VMware Partner Exchange, you’ll learn about virtual desktops, virtual workspaces, and VXI with Cisco and VMware View. But you can also learn about more about Cisco and VMware’s complementary cloud management solutions – to help our customers accelerate their journey to cloud computing.
You may have heard about the Cisco IT internal private cloud (CITEIS – Cisco IT Elastic Infrastructure Services) by now. At VMworld last fall, our IT team gave a presentation on how they deployed Cisco Intelligent Automation for Cloud together with VMware vSphere and vCloud Director for this successful initiative:
If you’re at VMware Partner Exchange this year, you’ll have an opportunity to learn how we did it, how it works, why it delivered great results, and how you can deploy a similar solution. Just make sure you visit Cisco in booth 308 to see a demo of cloud management with Intelligent Automation – and attend our sessions below.
This week in No Jitter, Cisco Collaboration Senior Vice President and General Manager Barry O’Sullivan looked into his crystal ball and elaborated on his predictions for 2012.
In an excerpt, Barry predicts:
“1. Post PC-era will explode
2. Video will break through
3. Contact Centers will evolve as customers choose to interact with companies in radically new ways
4. Companies will use the cloud and desktop virtualization to provide collaboration capabilities across the enterprise
5. Social business processes will become mainstream for many.”
Think cloud isn’t the next big thing in the evolution of IT? By 2015, experts predict cloud traffic will grow 12 times to reach 1.6 zettabytes—yes, zettabytes. That’s more than four days of business-class video for every single person on the planet.
So listen up, partners. Cisco is backing cloud 100 percent, and they’re ready to work with you to help enable the world of many clouds. Whether it’s planning, building, or running clouds, the opportunities are enormous. There’s also a great deal of complexity.
But not to worry. Cisco has you covered.
As part of its Cloud Partner Program, Cisco is offering Collaborative Professional Services (CPS) for Cloud. This Cisco Services offering shares intellectual capital, smart service innovation, demand generation, and a global delivery infrastructure with partners—all to help you develop profitable cloud solutions that will put a smile on every customer’s face.
Believe me. Your enterprise, service provider, small business, and government customers want a trusted cloud advisor. By transitioning to cloud, they’re likely to reduce costs, increase efficiency, and gain strategic advantage. Wonder who they’ll thank for the help? Read More »
