Enterprise Networks Taking Center Stage at Cisco Live Milan

It is clear being an IT professional today is not easy, there are ever increasing demands on the network and on IT resources. Just look at some of the data out there:

Even in conversations with customers here at Cisco Live MilanCL Milan it is evident that IT is tasked to more with less, “I am told I need to be more agile.” Or, “Everyone is getting new Mobile Devices that are going to increase traffic.” Or “I needs to be more strategic to the business.”

It is clear that IT needs to rethink how they enable applications, secure the network and manage the infrastructure. But there is hope! Cisco is hard at work developing new solutions and products to help in meeting top of mind concerns. In recent January announcements, many being highlighted at Cisco Live Milan, Cisco has shown how new technology can help IT be more agile, support new demands and drive business impact. There have been a number of blogs talking about these announcements and below is where you can find out more about these exciting Cisco innovations.

#EngineersUnplugged Going Rogue At #CLEUR

At CiscoLive Milan this year, we’re going to be doing something a little different with Engineers Unplugged.

Traditionally, Engineers Unplugged has been this awesome video series featuring two speakers, a whiteboard, and great Data Center discussions. It also included drawing a unicorn. This year, we’re opening it up to topics including branch routers, campus switching, mobility, and (potentially) some IoT folks. Basically, we’ll cover everything in Data Center, Mobility (including Meraki… oh yeah!), Enterprise Networks, and Internet of Things for those of you who follow our naming silos.

What this means for you: If you’re going to CiscoLive Milan, you should sign up to join in on the Engineers Unplugged fun. Or, let me know about pairings you’d like to see. Read More »

My Cisco Live Milan IPv6 Firsts

That is it, Cisco Live Milan is over! The “before” of anticipation, seemingly a moment ago, is replaced by the “after” of takeaways and accomplishments for the week. Not only did I learn a lot, but this year at Cisco Live Milan was a year of “firsts” for me.

  • For starters, it was the first time I shared details about my experience with large-scale IPv6 WiFi setups with Cisco Live attendees in the form of a breakout session. After talking with attendees, my main takeaway – Read More »
