Integrated stacks are grabbing more and more attention on the market -- Omar Sultan introduced VSPEX on this channel two months ago (read his blog here ) . After EMC World, Cisco Live 2012 is a great opportunity to learn more about this reference architecture. Here is a quick note from Brian Gracely (@bgracely) , Director of Marketing at EMC .
“Last April, EMC introduced VSPEX Proven Infrastructure, an easy on-ramp to private cloud for those businesses that need a flexible, yet simple, complete virtualization solution.
For those that may be unaware of the new launch, VSPEX are reference architectures proven by EMC and Cisco and packaged and delivered as complete virtualization solutions by trusted channel resellers. Developed with the needs of SMB and midmarket customers in mind, VSPEX is designed for flexibility and validated to ensure interoperability and fast deployment. VSPEX gives customers the power to choose the technology that fits their needs -- storage, virtualization, servers and networking – while removing the complexity and risk that typically comes with designing, integrating and deploying a best-of-breed solution. With VSPEX by EMC and Cisco, private cloud computing is more accessible than ever.
VSPEX is one of many EMC-Cisco Solutions that will be featured at Cisco Live. Coming back from EMC World we have heard overwhelming interest in the VSPEX platform. With Cisco Live just next week, we wanted to make sure that all those interested in more information on VSPEX had the right contacts to reach out to during Cisco Live for follow-up.
Located in the EMC booth (#934) will be a VSPEX rack with vSpecialists and qualified EMC representatives that will be discussing the technology and benefits of VSPEX Proven Infrastructure. Please do not miss out of the opportunity to engage IT professionals on one of the most exciting releases of the year! Posted below is a comprehensive list of those to follow to get updates on all things VSPEX and EMC-Cisco Solutions.
Cisco Live 2012 is a a very busy and vibrant event -- Amongst our partners , NetApp is playing this year a specific role to make sure that our attendees have the best experience ever .
I asked NetApp Vaughn Stewart (@vStewed) , Director for Cloud Computing and Virtualization at NetApp, and an avid blogger to tell us a little bit more about NetApp participation at Cisco Live 2012
“I am here in the beautiful San Diego to support the NetApp team and activities at Cisco Live 2012. This year’s event features the largest number of joint Cisco and NetApp solutions in our history! I expect Cisco Live attendees will be impressed with the depth and breadth of our offerings.
When I was asked to blog on what we have in store for the event I thought they were asking me to write another book! Honestly, I can’t even cover the volume of FlexPod activity in a single post. With that said, allow me to share with you a few items I find truly compelling.
FlexPod Powers the NOC at Cisco Live

So, with CiscoLive! only a couple of days away, there are a lot of people that are going to be seeing their hard work come to fruition for those of you lucky to be attending our show in San Diego. From a Data Center perspective, we have a show presence bursting with demos (really, we had to call an audible to handle all the demos) and any number of sessions of all technical levels (you can even check me out covering ITaaS basics in PSODCT-3863). If you want a more targeted briefing, swing by the Cisco booth and schedule a briefing on any number of topics.
From a network programmability perspective, check out our bag insert to give you a quick snapshot of things to check out (note: there are iPad giveaways involved). For those of you on the show floor, flag me down and say “hi”. For those of you who cannot make it to San Diego this year, check out Cisco Live 365.
As I prepare for an exciting week @ Cisco Live, I quickly found that I wanted to be at three places at the same time, so I decided to put together a navigation aid for the Cisco UCS related sessions. We expect almost 15000 delegates to attend and hope the navigator helps you if you will be among them. If you are new to UCS and would like to see why more than 13000 customers are using the Cisco UCS check out the Solutions Keynote: Data Center and Cloud Solutions by Dr. David Yen Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Data Center Group (Wed Jun 13 at 12:30 PM). For a high-level overview go through this presentation my colleague Thomas Cloyd put together, and we presented at EMC World last month.
Cisco Live is all about education; so don’t be surprised by the large number of UCS demos, seminar, technical breakouts, partner case studies and labs. The navigator below should help you prioritize the sessions to attend.
