As organizations work to evolve their IT infrastructure into a cloud-based model, one concept becomes self-evident: connecting users to the cloud with confidence. In order to achieve that, any virtual infrastructure must have the ability to pool multiple physical devices into a single virtual instance, then expand and contract that instance simultaneously and instantaneously based on application, location or line of business requirements. Such needs further emphasize the importance of design flexibility and scalable deployment models within the WAN. Cisco WAAS provides exactly that and more. But, don’t just take our words for it. Hear directly from our customers at Cisco Live this week. Read More »
It’s that time of year again when we all gather for Cisco Live US to share the latest and greatest in the world of IT and networking. This year the event is being held in San Diego, and there are 17,000 in-person attendees—a new record! One of my favorite things about Cisco Live is that I have a chance to interact one-on-one with customers, partners, and analysts. When I do, the topic of the cloud invariably is on their minds.
Of course many already know about the Cisco CloudVerse strategy and solution set, which is based on the Unified Data Center, Cloud Intelligent Network, and Cloud Applications and Services, all of which are supported by Cisco and partner professional services. What they might not know about, however, are all of the advancements Cisco has made to make cloud networks truly intelligent since last December when we originally announced CloudVerse.
Yesterday here at Cisco Live, we announced Cisco Cloud Connected Solution as the latest innovation in the Cloud Intelligent Network. This solution adds a host of capabilities to your already existing network infrastructure, allowing you to take full advantage of cloud computing. A number of new capabilities were introduced, but my personal favorites are the Cloud Connectors and the new Read More »
So, I wrapped up CiscoLive Day 1 with a chance to catch up at the end of the day with Fred Nix of EMC (@NixFred) and Vaughn Stewart of NetApp (@vStewed). While the conversation covered a number of topics, not all them appropriate for a corporate blog, we did commit this part of the conversation to tape. I think this segment highlights a couple of things. First, how our ecosystem of data center partners is second to none–these guys are rock stars and they represent equally cool companies. Second, I think this really shows how much IT has evolved and the lines have blurred so that folks like EMC and NetApp are able move beyond their storage roots and deliver comprehensive infrastructure solutions to our customers through their vBlock and FlexPod offerings, respectively.
Integrated stacks are grabbing more and more attention on the market – Omar Sultan introduced VSPEX on this channel two months ago (read his blog here ) . After EMC World, Cisco Live 2012 is a great opportunity to learn more about this reference architecture. Here is a quick note from Brian Gracely (@bgracely) , Director of Marketing at EMC .
“Last April, EMC introduced VSPEX Proven Infrastructure, an easy on-ramp to private cloud for those businesses that need a flexible, yet simple, complete virtualization solution.
For those that may be unaware of the new launch, VSPEX are reference architectures proven by EMC and Cisco and packaged and delivered as complete virtualization solutions by trusted channel resellers. Developed with the needs of SMB and midmarket customers in mind, VSPEX is designed for flexibility and validated to ensure interoperability and fast deployment. VSPEX gives customers the power to choose the technology that fits their needs – storage, virtualization, servers and networking – while removing the complexity and risk that typically comes with designing, integrating and deploying a best-of-breed solution. With VSPEX by EMC and Cisco, private cloud computing is more accessible than ever.
VSPEX is one of many EMC-Cisco Solutions that will be featured at Cisco Live. Coming back from EMC World we have heard overwhelming interest in the VSPEX platform. With Cisco Live just next week, we wanted to make sure that all those interested in more information on VSPEX had the right contacts to reach out to during Cisco Live for follow-up.
Located in the EMC booth (#934) will be a VSPEX rack with vSpecialists and qualified EMC representatives that will be discussing the technology and benefits of VSPEX Proven Infrastructure. Please do not miss out of the opportunity to engage IT professionals on one of the most exciting releases of the year! Posted below is a comprehensive list of those to follow to get updates on all things VSPEX and EMC-Cisco Solutions.
Cisco Live 2012 is a a very busy and vibrant event – Amongst our partners , NetApp is playing this year a specific role to make sure that our attendees have the best experience ever .
I asked NetApp Vaughn Stewart (@vStewed) , Director for Cloud Computing and Virtualization at NetApp, and an avid blogger to tell us a little bit more about NetApp participation at Cisco Live 2012
“I am here in the beautiful San Diego to support the NetApp team and activities at Cisco Live 2012. This year’s event features the largest number of joint Cisco and NetApp solutions in our history! I expect Cisco Live attendees will be impressed with the depth and breadth of our offerings.
When I was asked to blog on what we have in store for the event I thought they were asking me to write another book! Honestly, I can’t even cover the volume of FlexPod activity in a single post. With that said, allow me to share with you a few items I find truly compelling.
FlexPod Powers the NOC at Cisco Live
