Cisco Partner Weekly Rewind – April 10, 2015

Partner-Weekly-Rewind-v2Each week, we’ll highlight the most important Cisco Partner Ecosystem news and stories, as well as point you to important, Cisco-related partner content you may have missed along the way. Here’s what you might have missed this week:

Off the Top

We are just a tad more than two weeks away from Cisco Marketing Velocity 2015 and Cisco Partner Summit 2015. With that in mind, this week on the Partner Blog was all about the upcoming events.

Sherri Liebo gave us a preview of Marketing Velocity on Tuesday. She gave us all a quick look at what to expect in Montreal on Monday, April 27, including a peek at the agenda. Take a look at Sherri’s blog and see just why she’s so excited that Marketing Velocity is being held in conjunction with Partner Summit this year.

Bruce Klein stopped by yesterday to post his preview of Partner Summit and to talk a bit about the progress Cisco has made with the Cisco Partner Ecosystem.

He’s not the only one talking about Cisco and its partners this week either. Zeus Kerravala of ZK Research posted his own blog this week called How Cisco keeps channel partners out in front of market trends where he talks about how Cisco has created such loyalty amongst its partners.

Both are great reads and will give you a sense of just what to expect at Cisco Partner Summit 2015. Let us know what you think in the comments section!

Exploring Virtual Partner Summit

I posted a blog early in the week about Cisco Virtual Partner Summit (VPS). VPS is the perfect way to keep up with what’s going on throughout the week in Montreal, even if you are not physically there. My VPS preview blog provides screenshots and a quick walkthrough of what you can do in VPS, and what you can expect to see.

VPS is a valuable tool that you should take advantage of if you’re not going to be in Canada for the events. Take a look and let me know what you think. Read More »

Off the Top

There was big news from the Collaboration Team this week and Richard McLeod gave Cisco Partners an update on the launch of Cisco Spark.

As Richard said, this is much more than the launch of a new app from the Collaboration Team. It’s about the modernization of business from traditional models to new, agile models.

Be sure to read Richard’s blog and join the conversation on Cisco Spark.

CRN Channel Madness

CRN is holding its own March tournament this year. Thirty-two channel chiefs enter, but only one will remain standing at the end. Cisco has two of its own in this year’s tournament. Check out the head-to-head matchups and give Bruce Klein and Edison Peres some support!

Only one channel chief can win the tournament, but one thing’s for sure, it’s going to be fun! Read More »

CRN Announces 2015 Channel Chiefs

If you remember my blog from about this time last year, CRN announces its list of Channel Chiefs, and it’s quite an honor to be named to the list. According to CRN, the people named to their Channel Chiefs’ list head up the partner programs that we all depend on, and they do it with professionalism year in and year out.

I am again extremely honored to be one of the named Channel Chiefs this year. As always though, I really wanted to post today in order to make sure you were all aware of my five colleagues who were named this year. I can’t tell you how excited we are at Cisco to have six of our executives recognized by CRN, two years in a row.

I also wanted our partners to know that our executives don’t get recognized in this way without you. We have only put ourselves into a position where our executives win recognition because of the countless hours of work you have put in, and the incredible feedback you have provided us. Hearing from you about how Cisco is doing is the lifeblood that keeps our partner programs fresh and effective, so keep it coming.

Oh and one last thing, CRN also recognized us as one of the top 100 coolest cloud vendors and included us on the CRN Data Center 100 list for 2015 in the Infrastructure Providers Category. Pretty great news in a space where many people said we were out of our depth!

Now without further fanfare, please join me in congratulating the CRN Channel Chiefs at Cisco this year: Read More »
