I am happy to share the great news that the Cisco team received industry accolades last week when it was recognized by Frost & Sullivan for delivering a seamlessly connected enterprise collaboration solution across industry verticals. The award, based on Frost & Sullivan’s Vision of the Future of Manufacturing Production 2.0 (Visi-MAP 2.0), identified the top 50 game changers in manufacturing hardware and software. The Visi-MAP 2.0 initiative uses this platform to identify companies that refuse to take a ringside spectator view of industry developments and instead, lead in the visionary innovation process.
I know I speak for the entire Cisco Manufacturing team when I say that we are honored to be recognized for our integrated, vertically relevant solutions for business and operations networks as well as our strong ecosystem of partners. We have advanced our solutions greatly over the past few years and are excited for our future and continued growth. Our industry-leading solutions continue to set us apart from our competitors and we are excited that the industry is recognizing us as a leader.

Here at Cisco, we consider partners an extension of our team. Your success is a top priority for us and something we feel it’s important to recognize.
Last night at Cisco Partner Summit, currently taking place in Boston, we had the privilege of recognizing our top global partners at a reception with Cisco executives. Sixteen partners were honored for their exceptional performance across several global categories. Thirteen partners were recognized for global excellence, and three for “Partner of the Year” in a specific geographic region.

It’s been four years since Cisco officially introduced the Unified Computing System (UCS) and began the challenge of convincing the industry – and the channel – that we were serious about being a server player and serious about making a difference in the data center.
We all heard the naysayers at first, and especially our competitors, saying: “Cisco? Servers? What does a networking company know about servers?” We had our work cut out for us.
Today we’re proud to have a number of industry accolades for Cisco’s data center strategy behind UCS, and a continued and growing partnership with a range of channel allies building ecosystem-based solutions around UCS. Just look at how much this community has grown:3,000 partners actively selling UCS Solutions and more than 20,000 end customers. Partners are building software solutions using the UCS developer tools we’ve provided, and major strategic allies like VCE, NetApp and Hitachi are winning in the data center with our combined technology and solutions. “Never get hard work confused with results.” – John Chambers, Cisco Chairman and CEO
Last night in New York City, the Cisco PR team won three of the most prestigious awards in the Public Relations industry at PRWeek’s PR Awards. We won the corporate branding campaign of the year, the In-House PR team of the year, and the overall PR campaign of the year (this is the overall winner of the other winning campaigns). Thank you PRWeek and all the judges for the recognition.
David McCulloch and I co-lead this great team and we couldn’t be more proud of this team recognition (and, we, of course, have to give much credit and guidance to our great boss, Karen Tillman, VP and Chief Communication Officer at Cisco – PRWeek PR Professional of the Year Honorable Mention). We also entered the corporate campaign of the year with our agency partners Text100 and Brunswick and, clearly, they get their due credit for helping us on our PR journey.
What is the definition of Public Relations? The Cisco PR team took a crack at defining PR and came up with this:
“Public Relations is knowing what to say; when to say it; how to say it; where to say it; whom to say it to, to promote and protect the client’s reputation.”
