Mobility is, and continues to remain a top business priority for service providers around the globe and one of Cisco’s five company priorities. There is an insatiable desire in the market for connectivity anytime, anywhere and on all the latest devices.
At Cisco, we are uniquely positioned with an architecture that spans from the client -- to the network -- to the cloud to meet these demands. We are constantly innovating to further define mobility technology and solutions across all of these areas to address service provider challenges of network reach and network intelligence. This unique position makes us attractive to both customers and prospective employees.
Today, I’m excited to share news that confirms our expanding leadership position in the mobility market. Paul Mankiewich will be joining Cisco as CTO for SP Mobility in Cisco’s Mobile Internet Technology Group (MITG).
Paul joins us from Juniper where he was responsible for end-to-end network vision and architecture across all of Juniper’s products and their insertion into service provider networks. Paul also spent over 10 years in various CTO roles for mobility and service provider at Alcatel-Lucent. Paul has made significant contributions to the mobile industry and has authored well over 100 technical papers related to wireless, networking and devices.
Paul will be dividing his time between his home base in New Jersey, where he lives with his family, Cisco Headquarters in San Jose, and Cisco MITG in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, Research Triangle Park and in India.
Clearly we are thrilled to have such an industry thought-leader join our team! We look forward to his partnership and work to further drive next-generation mobility architectures for our customers and broadly in the industry.
