Portugal Telecom Works with Cisco to Deliver Innovative Mobile Services

- November 14, 2011 - 0 Comments

Over the years, we’ve worked with many mobile operators around the world, and it is always very rewarding to work with those that are forward-looking and innovative. Portugal Telecom (PT) is very much one of these innovators. In developing and deploying new mobile services and the network architectures that enable them, PT has a rich history of success.

We had the opportunity last month to chat with Luis Alveirinho, Portugal Telecom Network Director, about how PT has designed its next-gen mobile network to deliver advanced business and consumer services with the highest levels of quality and reliability.

Mr. Alveirinho is known throughout the industry as an innovator and visionary and is a highly sought after speaker at conferences and higher education institutions across Europe. Working with Mr. Alveirinho on the development of PT’s next-generation mobile packet core has been a privilege and a pleasure.

We were fortunate to catch Mr. Alveirinho as he was preparing to move from Portugal to Brazil, where he will assume the role of CTO for Oi, the second largest telecom in Latin America and a PT partner.
Enjoy the following video on how PT is once again leading the industry in advanced mobile services.
