Manifesto Girls in ICT: Challenge to Other Companies

- March 5, 2012 - 0 Comments

Since my blog Where Will You Be April 26, 2012? Girls and Women in ICT, posted on January 24 2012, Cisco has been preparing for a very active April 26 2012 Girls in ICT day.  I must assert that many Cisco offices already engage in Girls Day activities throughout the year and that Cisco takes this issue very seriously.

Examples in the past include Job Shadow day hosted by Cisco for example in France:

Or using technology like Telepresence to bring girls together from difference countries like:

This was an impressive event as the girls started introducing each other shyly, speaking in their mother tongues – Serbian & Bulgarian and ended up singing to each other and cheering to each other for support.

For Cisco, Girls in ICT is not just a one – day event but part of what we do as a responsible company.

I challenge other companies to do the same; because it is simply the right thing to do globally!
