Cisco at The Cable Show

Cisco at The Cable Show 2009
This is my 2nd blog already? Yes, I’m about to leave for NCTA this week for a major product announcement from Cisco in the cable space. I told you about our medianet vision which was introduced last December and to many, skeptical of a vision without proof points - here’s one more proof point from Cisco!

I can’t tell you about the announcement until April 1st, but I can tell you that this product will bring a very compelling end-user application for cable operators.

As is with Cisco philosophy, the product is only as good as its ability to enable the “network as the platform”.  So, you’ll see the interaction between network-based elements and devices in the home to drive compelling new applications that cable operators will be rolling out in CY09.

If you’re at NCTA, come by and say hello and we’ll show you live demos of these applications and the portfolio enabling them.

Also, come attend a great panel session hosted by CT Magazine titled: “Managing Transformation in Video Technologies and Consumer Experiences”. We’ll have quite a list of heavy hitters on the panel from the EVP of ESPN, CIO of Discovery Communications, SVP of BrightHouse, Exec Director of Cox, Sr. Director of Time Warner and of course our own Jeff Seebeck (VP of Product Strategy).
