My renewed love for Collaboration
I lived off my iPad for two days, using it to take pictures, live-tweet, check in to new apps, and even message with my family.
The 2012 Ragan – Cisco Social Media Summit was definitely worth my time, and even the worry of how many emails I would return to after being ‘offline’ for two days. Although I didn’t check my good old fashioned work email during this time, my Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) experience proved that there are other ways to stay connected at work. I have returned to my usual routine with a renewed love for Collaboration.
Here are my key takeaways from #ragancisco, as they apply to the community management training work I do in for Cisco Sales:
1. Social Media (Collaboration) is still so new, that practically every wholehearted attempt results in a success story.
2. Build a community around people who actually want to commune with each other.
3. You can’t change a whole company at once, but you can change one person at a time.
To quote @briansolis “Stay social, my friends”.
