After setting up a new wireless router my desktop won’t pick up the signal?! I’ve have it working on various routers over the years and I just can’t figure out what the issue could be? Tried different security settings, turned off firewalls, turned firewalls back on. Purchased a new stick thinking that manybe my wireless card was too old but nothing is working. It works fine on my laptop though. Any ideas?

Hi Adaan,

The WAP321 is a replacement for the WAP4410N. I recommend you upgrade to the WAP321 as it has better features and security. As for your problems with your current connection, try calling Cisco Support or visit the Small Business Support Community to see if you can have your questions answered. Also note that you might have the option of getting the device replaced with the Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Hey Karen,

I purchased a Linksys X2000 based, among other things, on your blog entry below.

“The new Linksys X2000 a Wireless-N ADSL 2+ Modem Router that works with either DSL or cable broadband connections.”

I’m not great with tecnology but most people aren’t. I have broadband cable internet and I was trying to replace both the modem and the router I rent from my provider. I apparently can’t with this product. I still need a modem. Seems to contradict what you aree saying. Now I have a $90 piece of equipment I didn’t need. Contact me on facebook please if you plan to. I won’t be logging into this blog regularly.

We want to know whether WAP121 or WAP321 is any good? We have bad experience with WAP4410N. We have five of them which are constinuously dropping connections. The mistake that is made We didn’t check the forum first before doing the purchase. Not to repeat the mistake, We waiting for someone who has experience with this new APs. Please CISCO if you can’t make your Small Business products right, don’t market them.
