Building Trust and Transparency One Step at a Time

Like all successful companies, we listen to our customers and strive to exceed their expectations. Our customers expect us to be trustworthy, transparent and accountable. As a company, there are many ways we are doing just that.

We started this journey more than 10 years ago when, based on customer feedback, we centralized our approach to driving security and trust—not only into our products, but into the very fabric of how we do business. And, we’ve continued to build on these efforts to earn your trust one step at a time. The momentum we’re gaining this year is clear.

In April 2015, we launched the Cisco Trust and Transparency Center, which includes our Transparency Report on Government Requests for Customer Data, articulates our Trust Principles, and provides information about our Trustworthy Systems and processes.

On October 5, 2015, Cisco launched a new and improved security vulnerability disclosure format, which can be found at Cisco Security Advisories. Through the work of Cisco’s Product Security Incident Response Team (PSIRT), we are leading the way in effectively managing vulnerabilities, delivering security in a more meaningful way.

We’re not stopping there. In response to increasing customer requests around the globe, we are rolling out a new offering called the Technology Verification Service. This service will enable customers to review and test Cisco hardware and software, including source code, in a secure, dedicated environment at a Cisco site.

Over the coming months, we will test the service with a select group of beta customers and incorporate key learnings. During this time, we will also field inquiries and requests to schedule this new paid service. Our first site for the service will be at our Research Triangle Park, North Carolina campus. A second site is planned to open in Europe in calendar year 2016. Any additional, future sites will be determined based on market demand.

We’re listening, we’re delivering, and we’re proud of these strides to increase transparency at Cisco, to be accountable to our customers and shareholders, and to continue to earn your trust.
