New Cisco Demonstration Center for Retail, Where Everyone has a Front Row Seat

- October 20, 2011 - 0 Comments

I recently had a pleasure of working on the team to delivera Cisco technology showcase for retailers, with the requirements that it is accessible from multiple remote locations and allow large or small parties to have an immersive demonstration experience.

The result is the Retail BDOT (Business Demonstrations over TelePresence).  Leveraging Cisco TelePresence technology, we connect visitors to a day in life of a retailer made possible with Cisco technology.

Some of the questions the demonstrations are designed to address include:

  • How does technology improve retail employee productivity, skills and retention?
  • How do retailers deliver omni-channel shopping experience?  How can retailers deliver superior experiences in the store, on the web, over voice, on mobile devices and social media?
  • What are the IT infrastructure and architecture considerations for retailers?
  • How can retail IT deliver value while facing budget challenges, the need for high availability and maintain flexibility to deliver quickly new capabilities for the business?

With this facility, we can connect to one or multiple Cisco TelePresence locations and give every visitor a front row seat to an immersive demonstration experience.

Technologies showcased here include offerings from Collaboration, Business Video, Borderless Network and Data Center.

Retailers interested in visiting the Retail BDOT can contact their Cisco representatives to schedule a tour.
