Virtual Tour of Virtual Partner Summit 2011
Can you believe it? We’re less than a week away from Cisco’s Partner Summit! Many of you will likely be attending the event virtually—if you haven’t yet registered, please visit the Virtual Partner Summit registration page to sign up (it’s free). The virtual event runs March 1 through March 3.
But maybe you’re wondering, “all right, what’s so cool about this Virtual Partner Summit thing?”and “What exactly do you do inside a virtual event?”
Glad you asked! Join me on a quick tour of Virtual Partner Summit (or VPS for short) so you can find out…
When you enter for the first time, the friendly face of none other than Edison Peres Cisco’s SVP of WW Channels will greet you. He will provide some background and give you a quick rundown of what you’ll find inside VPS and help you navigate the environment.
Using the kiosk behind Edison, you’ll be able to visit the various rooms and areas in Virtual Partner Summit allowing you to attend keynotes, breakout sessions, network, earn prizes, watch replays, and join live video chats with Cisco executives and guest speakers. To get back to this main screen, just click Home from the kiosk or use the menu bar at the top of the page.
What else will you find in VPS?
Your own personal assistant. Well, sorta. In the Agenda area, you can set up your schedule and see everything that will be happening during the event. Simply scroll through the sessions and add sessions that interest you to your agenda. You can even select an option to receive an email reminder so you don’t forget to attend. (Don’t worry, we’ll have replays available if you do miss a session.)
To view keynotes and sessions, simply click the Auditorium link from the kiosk on the home page or from the navigation menu on the top of your screen.
On each day of Partner Summit, we’ll have live, interactive video chats and we’ll take your questions on the air. Visit the Executive Chat area so you can see which executives will be speaking.
Our guests include: Cisco Chairman and CEO John Chambers; CTO Padmasree Warrior; SVP, Worldwide Partner Organization Keith Goodwin; SVP, Worldwide Channels Edison Peres; SVP, Cisco Services Karl Meleuma; and breakout speaker Scott McKain who will be talking about “The Ultimate Customer Experience” in a special Virtual Velocity session.
To attend, simply add the chats to your agenda or visit the Executive Chat session at the specified start time. You can use Twitter or Facebook to post questions.
In the Social Media area, you can chat with other attendees, send tweets, post to Facebook, and find out news from the event. Plus, there’s a cozy couch in the lounge and a view of New Orleans in the background.
And who doesn’t love prizes? By participating in sessions, posting comments (and especially rating sessions), you will collect points that will earn you prizes.
The Cisco Channels Facebook page is also doing a virtual iPad raffle. To enter the raffle, simply like our Facebook page. We’ll be holding two drawings the week of Partner Summit and one the week after the event, so like the page for your chance to win.
The Resources area contains documents from sessions, presentations, and links to important web sites. Topics include social media, marketing, borderless networks, and architectures.
There is also a Cisco Services area within the Resources section, where you can learn more about Cisco Services, download resources, and take a survey.
Finally, if you get lost or need a helping hand, there is a Help Desk, which will be staffed should you need additional assistance using the VPS environment. Simply head to the Home screen and click Help Desk from the main kiosk.
That’s it for our tour! We hope you’ll join us online March 1-3, 2011 for Virtual Partner Summit. Follow the #ciscopss11 hash tag on Twitter, “like” us on Facebook, and check back here on this blog for updates, important info, and Partner Summit news.Tags:
