Partner-Weekly-Rewind-v2Each week, we’ll highlight the most important Cisco Partner Ecosystem news and stories, as well as point you to important, Cisco-related partner content you may have missed along the way. Here’s what you might have missed this week:

Off the Top

There was big news from the Collaboration Team this week and Richard McLeod gave Cisco Partners an update on the launch of Cisco Spark.

As Richard said, this is much more than the launch of a new app from the Collaboration Team. It’s about the modernization of business from traditional models to new, agile models.

Be sure to read Richard’s blog and join the conversation on Cisco Spark.

CRN Channel Madness

CRN is holding its own March tournament this year. Thirty-two channel chiefs enter, but only one will remain standing at the end. Cisco has two of its own in this year’s tournament. Check out the head-to-head matchups and give Bruce Klein and Edison Peres some support!

Only one channel chief can win the tournament, but one thing’s for sure, it’s going to be fun! Read More »

Join the Revolution – Change Your Daily Routine

Today’s announcement of Cisco Spark is about much more than a new app for team collaboration. It is about the modernization of businesses from traditional organizations to next-generation or agile enterprises. Rowan compares this change in the way people work to the beginning of a revolution. I think it’s important for us to realize the magnitude of the opportunity ahead of us. Only collaboration technology can truly change the way people communicate and empower them to work better together. Cisco’s portfolio is stronger than ever – and we will continue to innovate and simplify with new products like Cisco Spark, the MX800 Dual, Context Service for contact centers, and our new video software. Combine that portfolio with the strength of the Cisco channel, and we have the ability to help our customers transform into the next-generation, agile enterprises they want—and need—to become.

This is some pretty big talk – galvanizing a revolution – to capture a $60 billion market. It’s certainly going to require change, but we can do it together if we start now.

I ran across this quote by leadership author John Maxwell the other day on Facebook, and I think it offers a good way for us to think about this big transformation: “You’ll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.” I like this quote because it puts change into the perspective of the ordinary, of your “daily routine.” That seems more manageable than a revolution. Cisco Partner Ecosystem Marketing Update

Remember back in November, when I talked about the Cisco Partner Ecosystem in the Midmarket? Between that blog and a closer look at the Cisco Partner Plus Program a month later, I took a bit of your time to discuss how the Cisco Partner Ecosystem had grown to include so many partners and opportunities in the Midmarket. It was just one example of how the Cisco Partner Ecosystem has grown since it was introduced at Cisco Partner Summit 2014 in Las Vegas.

As we draw ever closer to both Cisco Partner Summit and Cisco Marketing Velocity this year, I wanted to touch base with you briefly to take one more look at how we have marketed and grown since Partner Summit 2014.

Cisco Partner Ecosystem Launch

When Bruce Klein introduced the Cisco Partner Ecosystem at Cisco Partner Summit 2014, he touted its designed intention of attracting more independent software vendors (ISVs), which it has absolutely done. Bruce also pointed out that the Cisco Solution Partner Program was a core piece of the Cisco Partner Ecosystem that would give solution partners more visibility, enable channel partners to deliver business outcomes, and connect solution partners with channel partners. Cloud Innovation: An Ecosystem Makes it Possible

Momentum is building with Cisco’s Intercloud strategy.  And today’s announcement brings Intercloud infrastructure innovation, as well as 14 new Intercloud providers headquartered in ten countries into Cisco’s expanding partner ecosystem.

new partner mapTogether with our partners, Cisco is building the Intercloud – the globally connected network of clouds – delivering secure cloud applications and infrastructure everywhere in the world. It has what Chief Information Officers (CIOs) want and need – great choice, with compliance and control – enabling virtual machine portability, application-centric policy control and open standards. Service orchestration is a key challenge facing CIOs today. They face increasing demands for automation, infrastructure and data alignment.  Yet, when they turn to a single vendor for cloud services, instead of a robust and connected partner ecosystem, they are settling for limited services, less opportunity for innovation and restrictions on network connectivity and data movement. In essence, a one vendor cloud solution can trap a customer in a world of isolated clouds. Read More »
