The wrap up week of coverage for Cisco Partner Summit 2015 begins with Rob Lloyd’s thoughts from this year’s event in Montreal, Canada. Rob and I spoke about the progress of Cisco Intercloud since its launch last year at the same event.
Rob was also gracious enough to give us some insight into last week’s announcement of the Cisco OpenStack Private Cloud Bundle. Of course we also had a brief conversation on what’s on the mind of partners and what Cisco partners should be sure to take away from Cisco Partner Summit 2015.
Watch my interview with Rob and let me know what you think in the comments section.
My wrap up coverage of Partner Summit continues this week with several other executive interviews and a wrap up blog in my Cisco Partner Weekly Rewind on Friday.

As always at Cisco Partner Summit, I take the opportunity to speak with our Cisco executives throughout the week, and one of the treats of my job is having a few moments to speak with Chairman and CEO of Cisco, John Chambers.
This year, John and I took a few moments out of his busy schedule to discuss the ever-increasing pace of change in our industry. We also discussed digital disruption and how it is affecting Cisco partners, how Cisco is ready to lead in the digitization of cities, countries and companies, and what they should take away from this great event. Want to hear John’s in-depth answers to those questions and more? Check out our interview:
It’s been a great Partner Summit in Montreal. I’m heading home today, but our coverage continues next week. Stay tuned to the Cisco Partner Blog through May 8 for the entire wrap up from this year’s event.

This morning, Bruce Klein welcomed everyone back to the morning general session for one last time at Cisco Partner Summit 2015. He mentioned that it’s been such a great week he wishes that we could all stay together a couple more days.
Bruce commented on the fabulous regional parties from last night and he even showed a clip of some footage from the GoPro cameras that were given to partners this week. The highlights from all of the parties certainly highlighted that the partners embraced the theme of “Being Bold” this week.
Speaking of video, let’s take one last look at the highlights from this week’s event:
Bruce then introduced the guest speaker for the morning, Steven Kotler. Steven Kotler is a best-selling author and co-founder of the Flow Genome Project.

Bruce Klein welcomed everyone back to Day 2, “Innovation Day”, of Partner Summit and asked Rob Lloyd to lead today’s general session. Rob Lloyd reinforced John’s message from yesterday. Things are changing and they are changing fast, and if you don’t find a way to disrupt your industry, you will be disrupted. As Cisco has said all week long, “You must Be Bold!”
Rob hosted iTalks this year as if they were a tv talk show, bringing Cisco executives up on stage as guests for quick talks about specific areas. This iTalk approach allowed each executive to give a brief description of what’s top of mind in their area, but before we get to those recaps, why not see what people at the show had to say about today:
Rob Lloyd brought Rob Soderbery up on stage to talk about security, and he led off by asking Rob S., “Is Cisco really ‘in it to win it’ in Security? Some people don’t necessarily think so.” Rob Soderbery went on to explain that Cisco is definitely all in on security and we are in fact refreshing the entire product line at the moment. Read More »

IT today is filled with disparate islands of clouds. Cisco’s strategy to connect those islands into an interconnected global network of clouds—the Intercloud—is unique in the market. But it’s our partner-centric cloud model that really helps us stand out from the usual cloud crowd.
We believe our partner-centric model is the winning strategy. A tightly knit ecosystem of trusted partners provides far greater infrastructure and application choice, greater industry expertise and better geographic coverage than any single vendor could.
Together, in just over a year, we’ve moved quickly from vision, to execution to momentum. We’ve laid the foundation for the Intercloud with a significant partner ecosystem of more than 60 Intercloud partners spanning more than 350 data centers across 50 countries.
While we are proud of what we’ve collectively achieved, our job is not done.
Today, we are introducing new programs, services and initiatives to help cloud builders, cloud providers and cloud resellers grow with us and further capture the Intercloud opportunity. We want to win with Intercloud together. Read More »
