Simplified Profitability with VIP 26—Enroll Now

The latest Value Incentive Program (VIP) period recently opened and reinforces Cisco’s commitment to partner profitability. VIP 26 continues to offer monetary rewards to partners who focus on technologies as a part of their larger value-based business strategy, and that are key to Cisco architectures and emerging offerings, including: Collaboration, Data Center, Enterprise Networks, Security, Cloud Managed Services, Cloud Services Reseller and Software as a Service (SaaS). In general, the highest rebates will be on some of our newer technologies and solutions that enable you to capture the market transitions with Cisco, provide the latest in our technology innovation to your customers, and insure longer lifecycles for the offers you are providing. We encourage our partners to review the changes to VIP via the links below, and take full advantage of the benefits provided by VIP 26.

Key highlights:

  1. New transition period: All SKUs are now protected from change for the first two months of the new VIP period.
  1. CSAT continues to simplify: Customer Satisfaction remains a primary focus of Cisco and our Partners. To simplify our CSAT process, starting in VIP 26, Partners are required to provide customers’ contact information (including email addresses to which the surveys will be sent) instead of having a requirement for valid completed surveys. Partner involvement in low score follow-up is still required.
  1. Integrated Cisco ONE™ SKUs. Cisco ONE™ SKUs are now integrated into the appropriate Enterprise Networks and Data Center subtracks.
  1. Meraki U.S. pilot. The Enterprise Networks track includes a Meraki Cloud Networking subtrack pilot for the United States, providing rebates on select Cisco Meraki switches, access points, and mobile device management on Global Price List (GPL).

I spent the early part of this week in Washington, D.C. at the 20th Annual XChange Conference. Be sure to check out my recap from the first day if you missed it on Monday.

I got to spend some time with Ken Trombetta as well, and he wrapped our coverage of the event this week by discussing the awards Cisco took home this year. As always it was great to see some colleagues from Cisco, some of our partners and a few I’ve never met at such a great event sponsored by The Channel Company.

Cisco Honored at 20th Annual XChange Conference

I’ve had a great few days here in Washington, D.C. at XChange 2015. You might have seen David Durham’s blog from Monday with the event details, but if not, take a look at his post to get up to speed on the XChange event and Peder Ulander’s keynote that kicked off the event for Cisco.

On Monday and Tuesday we continued with excellent keynotes, tech symposiums and breakout sessions. I was also able to participate in some fantastic meetings where I got great feedback from partners on Cisco’s security strategy. You can rest assured I will take that back with me and continue shaping our strategy.

Your input is invaluable and I love coming to events like XChange in order to get that information directly from you. You never hesitate to let us know how we’re doing and it is much appreciated. It’s how we continue to provide partner programs that work for you.

20th Annual XChange Conference Kicks Off in DC

I made it into DC yesterday, one day later than intended but happy to take a plane and not make the admittedly short drive from North Carolina. It’s great to be back with The Channel Company for the annual XChange Conference this week.  XChange brings together influential technology vendors, solution provider executives and industry analysts for a three day event each summer.

Each XChange Conference provides valuable insight and advice on what is needed to adapt and succeed in today’s marketplace.  This event is also where the CRN Annual Report Card (ARC) awards are announced each year. Fun side note: This event is also the first one I ever covered as a blogger for Cisco two years ago!

I enjoy these events a great deal because it provides me with an opportunity to meet with Cisco partners in person. I don’t always get a chance to sit down with our partners face to face and it’s always great to catch up and hear what’s important to their business as we move through the year. Much like everyone else at Cisco, I understand that Cisco partner success is Cisco success.

Oddly enough, these events are often a great way for me to meet folks from Cisco who I have worked with but never met. That was the case this week as Cisco’s Peder Ulander, VP, Cloud and Managed Services Partner Organization delivered an opening keynote speech on how to open new doors as a partner.

Peder clearly showed how disruption in various marketplaces is changing businesses across the board. The world is changing fast and it’s only getting faster. Customers are looking to our partners on how to make those transitions, and our partners need to be prepared to step and lead those transitions.  If you don’t move with the transitions, you’ll end up in a “digital vortex” that sweeps you right out of play.

Cisco offers end-to-end solutions that help our partners move customers through the transitions. With everything in the world becoming connected, partners are becoming software shops that are key to keeping customers viable. Read More »
