Are customers breaking down your door for mobile solutions? If not, they will be—and soon.

Here’s why. Three out of five workers say they don’t need to be in the office to be productive. And they aren’t taking “no” for an answer. The result: employees are working at home, in cafes, on trains—you name it, they’re out there with their tablets, smartphones, and other mobile devices.

Just ask Cisco Gold Partner MCPc. They’re meeting the needs of today’s increasingly mobile workforce. And they’re making their clients happy in the process—even if many of their clients’ employees haven’t been seen at the office in days.

But, seriously, what’s behind the company’s success? MCPc calls it the MCPc anyplace workspace™. It’s their own ‘playlist’ of partners, technology, and expertise—all perfectly orchestrated to enable secure, mobile collaboration.

Recently, I caught up with Darin Haines, MCPc’s CTO, to talk with him about his company’s strategy, which is working by the way to the tune of 43 and 57 percent growth, respectively, in products and services in FY12.  Leading from the Midwest
Just who is MCPc? For starters, they’re a trusted technology products and solutions provider headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. Their 425 dedicated, customer-focused professionals serve thousands of national and international customers from 15 locations across the country.

Need more? CRN’s VAR500 list recognized them as one of the nation’s top technology integrators and Cisco selected them as an Outstanding Solutions Partner (US/Canada—Central) at Partner Summit 2012.

“We began partnering with Cisco in 2003,” said Darin. “They have an amazing partner program and are dedicated to the channel unlike any other vendor or manufacturer. And their track record of innovation—in borderless networks, collaboration, and, most recently, data center—is unmatched in the industry.”

Darin also called out John Ford, his Cisco Partner Account Manager. “He’s always there for us. If we need help pushing a deal through, he’s there. If we need to schedule training, he’s there. And if we need his help setting up video interviews, he’s there. Plus, Cisco does its part with a great program in place to drive margin.”

Five Pillars of Creating a Highly Efficient, Anyplace Workspace
As partners, Cisco and MCPc both recognize that the convergence of voice, data, and video is an important part of the CIO arsenal to create a highly efficient workspace environment.

“CIOs want an infrastructure that is both agile and scalable,” said Darin. “But they often don’t know where to begin, and feel overwhelmed with the thought of revamping an infrastructure that has been working for them in the past.”

That’s where the anyplace workspace—and MCPc’s high-touch, solutions-led approach—comes into play. It’s built on five core pillars:

But MCPc does so much more than walk its clients through the “pillar questions.” The company conceives and implements the best environment to enable employees’ devices, desktop, network, data, and support to “follow them” wherever they go.

“We don’t push pieces of technology, we package end-to-end architectural solutions for our customers,” explained Darin. And along with other providers such as Citrix, NetApp, and VMware, Cisco is at the heart of their architectural approach.

This includes solutions in borderless networks, collaboration, data center, virtualization, storage, and security. And it’s through this collective approach that MCPc is helping organizations meet employees’ demands for mobility—while benefiting from their increased productivity.

In closing, Darin added that, “MCPc is helping to pioneer the new frontier of IT. And while we all talk about the requirement to innovate or die, it’s now truer than ever. As partners, we need to continue to innovate or risk losing relevance with our clients.”

A key part of that, according to Darin, is having the tools and partnerships in place to manage the entire mobility stack—whether it’s on a Mac, Windows PC, iOS device, or Android device.

Meanwhile, Darin and MCPc are thrilled about the direction Cisco is headed, and believe that Cisco’s new Work Your Way campaign is in lockstep with MCPc’s  workspace campaign. “We’re helping to shape the human network, and it’s incredibly exciting for us. Thanks, Cisco.”

No, our thanks go out to you Darin and MCPc. We wouldn’t be where we are without you—or any of our Partners. Have a success story to share? Have a comment for MCPc or Cisco’s Partner org? Start the conversation below.
