Microsoft’s annual channel event – their Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) – kicks off in Toronto in a few days on July 8. Cisco is a gold sponsor at WPC this year and we will be showcasing our Cisco UCS Intel-based server and Nexus switch families to the expected 15,000 Microsoft System Integrators, distributors, LARs, and VARs in attendance.
Cisco, with UCS and Nexus, provides tremendous data center engagement opportunities for channel partners to drive revenue generation. Microsoft will continue to roll out new product revisions for Windows Server, System Center, and SQL Server over the next few months.
With a 73 percent Intel Server market share as measured by IDC, Microsoft Windows Server and associated workloads are present in most all commercial and enterprise accounts worldwide. Here are a few actions you can take to leverage Cisco UCS and Nexus engagement for your clients and customers:
- For customers looking to refresh their IT infrastructure environment, take a look at Cisco’s FlexPod with Microsoft Private Cloud solution. This Microsoft-validated reference architecture can help speed up your server refresh engagements and help to deliver a high-quality profitable solution. (To provide customers a better understanding and background, send them this whitepaper on the FlexPod solution.)
- If you have projects being considered for new desktop solutions, please visit and learn about our Cisco Citrix ZenDesktop VDI offer. The linked document focuses on deploying a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) on a Microsoft Private Cloud built on FlexPod with Microsoft System Center 2012.
- Finally, management of the data center infrastructure is critical to all private cloud environments and is a driver for project revenue. For the Microsoft environment, Cisco’s UCS Manager provides critical integration and automation capabilities for Microsoft’s System Center management family. With a greater than 50 percent attach rate, System Center will be found in the majority of your client’s data centers. Learn more about Cisco management with System Center here.
And, of course, please visit us at booth #1573 in Toronto or visit the Microsoft Enterprise Applications on Cisco UCS site to learn more. Post your questions here in the comments, too.
