Earlier in July, I announced organizational changes within the Cisco Worldwide Partner Organization (WWPO) to better position us to achieve our long-term growth objectives with you, our Partners. These changes centered around three key areas of focus for our team:
- innovate and invest in our industry-leading channels model, led by Edison Peres
- drive commercial and small business sales with innovative partner-led models, headed up by Dave O’Callaghan, and
- build global and transformational partnerships, which will be led by Wendy Bahr.
While these three leaders embark on their new roles, today I would like to announce Jim Sherriff as the new Senior Vice President of the US & Canada Partner Organization — taking over for Wendy Bahr as the head of our largest theater.
Jim’s recent global experience and his deep understanding of Cisco’s field, customers, and partner needs make him the ideal leader for this key sales role. A nine-year Cisco veteran, Jim joins WWPO after a two-year assignment in China. During this time, Jim and his team helped build new capabilities across all major functions in China, while enhancing Cisco’s brand and government reputation through excellent coordination and execution of our commitments and investments.
Prior to taking on the China role, Jim was SVP for Cisco’s U.S. Enterprise business. While in this role, Jim was a vocal advocate for the partner community — identifying “deep partnering” as one of the four pillars of the U.S. Enterprise sales strategy.
With more than 30 years of IT industry experience, Jim joined Cisco after spending 19 years at Hewlett Packard and two years as CEO for a Cisco partner. Jim and his family are in the process of moving back to Austin, Texas where he will be based.
I am extremely excited about these leadership changes and confident that Jim, along with Edison, Dave, and Wendy in their new roles, will uncover great opportunities for Cisco and our Partners as we accelerate growth in FY11 and beyond.
