This is great news. I wish that all the business units in Cisco supported IPv6.

This is a problem for us as the core of the network needs IPv6 just as much as the edge to transport these traffic levels.

Jared, you’re exactly right that all it takes is one critical feature, one link in the chain, that isn’t supported on IPv6 as it is on IPv4 to get in the way of deployment. I’ve been working with the team here to understand what the latest is on the specific issue you have pointed out here and hope to have some good news for you very soon (and posted here as a comment for everyone else as well).

This is great news. I wish that all the business units in Cisco supported IPv6. We constantly run into issues with the IOS-XR teams and IPv6 being a 3rd rate feature when it comes to testing and roadmaps. This is something we’ve seen as a consistent trend for many years now and isn’t getting better. This is a problem for us as the core of the network needs IPv6 just as much as the edge to transport these traffic levels.

*patiently waiting since 2010 for netflow to work for ipv6 with attribute-download (to export ASN data, you know.. the useful part of netflow)*
