The International Broadcasting Convention (“IBC 2012”) commenced in Amsterdam today amid anticipation for what Cisco and newly acquired NDS will deliver to an industry in continuous transition, one that faces both unprecedented opportunity and rapidly shifting customer expectations.
Jesper Andersen, SVP and GM of Cisco’s Service Provider Video Technology Group, provided insight into how his organization will enable a true next-generation TV experience that is more immersive, engaging and social, while creating new revenue opportunities for service and content providers worldwide. Cisco today revealed its expanded content delivery network portfolio, the Cisco Videoscape Distribution Suite (VDS), and announced several Videoscape customer deployments, as well.
All technology is expanding exponentially, it is a mind blowing concept however especially when you apply it to other forms of media. My firm belief is the web will consume all other forms of media before too long.
