Comment how you give back and 4 meals will be donated to the World Food Programme!
It’s almost November, which means we are getting into the season of giving. Have you thought about how you might give back this holiday season? Well, Cisco can give you a head start…
In celebration of World Food Day, which occurred on October 16, Cisco has launched the “How Do You Give Back?” campaign where we are asking anyone and everyone to tell us how they give back to their communities. Did you know that for every unique comment that is made, 4 meals ($1 USD) will be donated to the global UN World Food Programme (WFP) for those who are hungry? That’s right! 1 comment = 4 meals
Check out our Facebook tab on the Cisco Facebook community that we created specifically for this campaign, where you can post your comments on how you give back.
Why are we doing this? To help organizations like the WFP end global hunger!
The WFP is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger and is one of Cisco’s longtime partners and grantees. Recently, in July of 2011 Cisco donated 2500 small video cameras to the WFP so staff could document how the organization was helping people, especially children, live healthier lives. One story in particular stood out. Molly, living in one of the largest slums in Kenya was able to document her life and how the daily meal she received from WFP gave her the opportunity to come to school, get an education and lift herself out of poverty. Watch the video below to learn more about Molly and also check out the Cisco CSR homepage to learn about some of the other activities Cisco is engaged in.
Molly’s story is just one of the countless opportunities the WFP offers to those in need and now you can help! How do you give back? Comment now and make a difference today!
