Tour of Cisco’s new on-site LifeConnections Health Center

I recently caught up with Dr. Pam Hymel, senior director of corporate medical programs, who took me on a tour of Cisco’s new on-site health center in San Jose. Cisco employees and their dependents will be able to get a breadth of medical services on-campus, ranging from primary care and physical exams to immunizations, lab work, health coaching, acupuncture, chiropractic care and physical therapy. They will also have access to an on-site pharmacy.

Employees are able to use the health center on an as-needed basis or for primary care, while still continuing the relationships they have with their private physicians.

The facility is a part of the new LifeConnections Center, which also offers a child care center for 400 children, as well as a state-of-the art fitness center.

The child care center, gym and pharmacy are currently open. The health center will officially open on Monday, Nov. 24.

More information on the center can be found here. Currently, employees are able to book appointments.

Cisco seems to be one of the smart companies that has a future perspective. This health center initiative is a very good example to follow for other major companies as well. I just hope that will do that.

I toured this facility for a customer EBC this past week. Way beyond anything else I’ve ever seen. A very well thought out design and efficient use of our technology.

Hi Pam
What a wonderful program you have at Cisco, I was on the plane with you and Mike, he was the nice young man who drove you home after our flight problems in D/F, last week. Drop me a line, I enjoyed traveling with you.

A real health benefit for employees from CISCO, It should be treat as foot mark for other companies.

In my point of view “CISCO’ focusing on collaboration that draws colleagues members and manager inputs from all the levels as the main river for its strategy to capture the new world of market, and its taking a decentralized rather than top to down tack. this highlights that other companies may gain success by following ‘CISCO’.

That is awsome that the employees are able to use the health center on an as-needed basis or for primary care, while still continuing the relationships they have with their private physicians. Everyone always likes to have a primary care doctor that they have a good relationship with and can trust their advice.
