Partnering for Energy Management

When it comes to addressing the world’s energy and environmental challenges, technology has a powerful role to play.  Technology can transform how cities manage traffic, how the electrical grid delivers energy to consumers, and how enterprises manage energy consumption across their operations.  Especially now, in response to energy costs, environmental concerns, and government directives, there is an increased need for sustainable and “green” business IT operations.

Meeting the needs of our customers and helping them realize the potential of their IT networks, Cisco is developing innovative solutions in energy management.  But as exciting as our technology can be, we know we can’t go it alone.  Truly changing how cities, businesses and consumers live their lives in a more energy- and environmentally-sustainable manner requires collaboration and partnership … with peers inside and outside the tech industry, new and old.

Reflecting this, Cisco today joined with IBM to announce the integration of our EnergyWise solution for Cisco Catalyst switches with IBM Tivoli® Monitoring for Energy Management. http://wwwin.cisco.com/solutions/green/  The announcement reinforces Cisco’s and IBM’s commitment to deliver integrated energy management solutions that help customers effectively manage energy consumption and costs across their entire infrastructure.

Cisco is proud to count IBM among the companies we are engaging with in this space.  More to come and more advanced solutions for our customers in the future…
